@@PlantPorn you've got some fab features to light, and lanterns to continue the zen theme. Perhaps a small fire pit so you can sit outside even though there's a nip in the autumn air. Your garden makes so many happy. More power to your elbow, me dear!

The curvy path was an excellent idea! Have you thought of transforming your long straight white path into something more "sensual"? Mosaics perhaps? Or river stones? It would combine better with the sensual feel to your garden....The window to the world is magical.

Great job with the new elements to the garden. From memory I think you've changed out your tree ferns and gunnera? I'm guessing that was to give you more space? Must have been difficult to part with the tree ferns. Great job. Well done
@PlantPorn3 жыл бұрын
Exactly that. The tree ferns created a lot of shade and they actually create a super tough Matt of Roots close to the surface of the soil so you can’t really plant anything underneath them. It was a shame but now I also don’t have to worry about protecting anything in the winter..

I now live in an almost tropical climate, green all year. I miss the change of seasons I can't explain it but its very profound to me to be in a long dark winter and on my daily walk see just a hint of a few green leaves starting to come out. Such a beautiful garden congratulations It would be interesting to see the structure in winter.

I love the new additions to the garden, especially the Cercis 'Red Pansy' - I'm very tempted to get one for my garden! Your new water feature is lovely - gives a really relaxing sound, and the 'window' to the beautiful view over the fields is just perfect! It draws the eye right to the end of the garden. Always an extra treat to see kitty cat strolling through the garden! A quick question - could you recommend a couple of medium/tall grasses for a south facing, fairly sheltered spot? I lost a couple of cordylines last year, after all the snow, and I'd like to replace them with some softer grasses.
@PlantPorn3 жыл бұрын
Thank you I’d definitely recommend getting a Cercis tree they are so beautiful! Leaves are like floating hearts 💕 I would recommend Miscanthus sinensis Red Chief. Lovely grasses with feathery plumes in autumn that turn a lovely bronze in winter and look great in the frosty morning sun!

Inspired by you, i have bought a banana plant. It's still in its pot. We are coming into winter here, and now i am freaking out about the frost killing it. We get a few nights where temps drop to - 5or 6c. Should i bring it in for winter and plant it out in spring? Or stick it in the ground now and hope for the best?
