Great information, thank you. I am creating a permaculture homestead in North Carolina. I have six acres that I need to fill up with fruit, vegetables, flowers and shrubs. I really need to learn propagation.

I’ve recently tried annabel hydrangea winter cuttings in just perlite. They are looking good and have sprouted lots of leaves. Time for planting out I think. I’m in Australia where it is springtime. Love propagating. I recently bought a seed tray that has a wicking fabric underneath so you don’t have to water. All my seeds are germinating 👏

This is brilliant, thank you. I have 1.5 acres to fill with flowers and I'm going to ask for one of those propagators for my birthday! I love your videos, keep them coming.

I ordered a hydro prop pod set after watching this! My mom has a rose bush that I love and no one knows the name of it. So hopefully I’ll be able to propagate it!! Thank you for sharing!

I agree that propagation is the best way to have as many plants as you want. The plastic balls for the tree branches are so interesting! Here in Southern California we have a warm dry climate most of the year, and I accidentally fried some rosemary cuttings because they got too much sun. The parent rosemary plants are huge, and because they trail, I'm sticking the ends in plastic pots with soil until they root. My plan is to plant rosemary along the fence with my neighbor early next spring so it is well established before summer. Wish me luck!

Thank you, very informative video. I have done a lot of easily propagated plants in my New York Zone 7a garden, e.g. if you stick some hardwood cuttings from cornus sericea in the ground in the fall, you will have plants in the spring. Bend a branch of hydrangea quercifolia down and anchor in the soil and it will root. Time to up my game! It truly is a very satisfying activity and if one gets carried away the extras can be gifted to gardening friends and family.

Very detailed information - I only do a few propagations because I don’t want more plants than I can handle. But it’s good to see your detailed video.

My propagator didn’t come with baskets, I found it a pain, as there was too much movement, so gave up. I would definitely get the baskets. Great video thanks

One of my edible olive trees has grown too tall and I have been thinking of attempting to air layer the extra vertical stem, but it is quite thick. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the size of the branch that can be used to air layer? I don't want to waste all the growth that will need to be trimmed from the mother tree. 🤷🏽
