Dr If gingiva is made of keratinized stratified squamous epithelium why can't it undergo regeneration while the epithelium in general is highly regenerable such as the skin????????????????? +
@periohub42934 жыл бұрын
Gingiva does have a good regenerative capacity. Infact ginigval fibroblasts contributes to regeneration with very little morbidity or scarring.

@@periohub4293 Then why it can't regenerate in cases such as gingival recession 😅😅
@periohub42934 жыл бұрын
@@generatingnewworld2902 Please understand Gingival recession occurs due to certain underlying causes ... it can be plaque associated inflammation or tooth malposition or thin gingival biotype and all these conditions lead to reduction in the quantity of connective tissue and subsequent reduction in blood supply influencing the repair and regeneration. Under normal conditions gingiva has a good regenerative capacity.
