How floating point is implemented on PlasMa, plus a demo/test using the classic Lunar Lander game from the late 60's.

It wasn't until 1991 that I used a computer with a hardware floating point implement. They didn't come standards on the IBM 360, PDP-11, and VAX machines I used during the 80s. I think the first time I saw floating point instructions in assembly was for the DEC alpha.

I jumped in at the deep end when I joined ICL (UK) in 1973 where the 2900 series was nearing the end of its development. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICL_2900_Series I worked on the 2970, which was a microcoded machine, and if memory serves, one of the many (12?) large motherboards (platters) held the 'arithmetic unit' (ARU). There's very little information around though, certainly fewer photographs, unlike IBM and others, which is a shame. Thanks for stopping by and sharing.
