during this covid19 pandemic. Sick people are been treated with plasma from recovered patients, because of the antibodies benefies. I have a question does the type of blood of the plasma receiper needed to be same as the blood type of the plasma donor? Or can I patient type A+ be a donor to an ORH+? since the transfusion isn´t of the whole blood, but only plasma?

Type o is a very resient blood type,if you have it you hit a lotto. Type o people and eat crap most of their lives and not have vascular problems that a type a ,ab will have because the platets are les pron to bind and there is fewer of them. If your an a or ab type you should be vesan as you are much more prone to heart disease.

For the American Red Cross, Platelets can accept O+ but not O- or B-. I know they recommend those types for whole blood or plasma.

@@realmadridfan9949 eh, not really. Like anything involving a needle, it's a little uncomfortable at first, but after that you settle into it pretty quick. Once it's going, you just kinda sit there and chill and the machine does its thing. They give you movies to watch and it takes about 2 hours, so that works out pretty nicely.

@nesrules 8bit They give you a screening before you donate(asking questions) to make sure that you can donate. I have a nice blood donor card from the Red Cross, so it's a lot faster. When you donate blood, just keep your mind distracted and you'll be fine. I like to just talk to people the entire time and make people laugh. After donating, they'll give you snacks and they'll make sure you're well enough to drive home. THAT'S IT! :)
