Thank you so much Scott. I love this comment. At some point I might share the details of her passing. It was quite spectacular (for those that believe). As I was driving home alone I was saying a prayer out loud and asked my mom to look over me. Just as I finished, a shooting star came down what looked like on top of my house. I was totally floored! I have no doubt she is looking down on me and PAIN FREE as you pointed out. God Bless you brother! Your entered

Thank you so much! You just made my night about your comment of me being a good son and her being a good mom. Everyone knew including all our family and her friends that the sun shined and set on me in my moms eyes as her only child. She always bragged me up to everyone how proud she was. So I would brag to her that it's because "I'm a big deal". I actually have a video where I say this to her LOL anyways, she found a shirt with the saying "I'm kinda a big deal" and she gave it to me a few years ago. A little while after my wife and I found a shirt that says "I'm a bigger deal" and we gave it to our 4 year old grandson. We all got a kick out of it. Thank you for the smile. I always knew my mom was proud of me. Thank you for bringing up this fond memory for me. Your in brother! Good luck @jspayne001

Thanks for the educational video Brandon. After the shared family grief and a whacky year, you deserve a break and some better news. Hope this New Year brings that to your future. Back on the equipment and process subject, a tool like the plasma cutter does come in handy . It can allow better results than a disc grinder or band saw. It also can cut where other tools cannot access. I would gladly place one in my shop.

First of all, please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your mom. Second, kudos to the subscriber that donated this plasma cutter and to you for paying it forward and giving this away after your review and demonstration. Third, I agree with your assessment that the 120V plug should be changed to a 240V plug. Other than that issue, the PLC55X seems to be a very capable little cutter. Very rarely would a small shop, DYI user need to cut thicker material than 1/2". Thanks for the link to the valuable chart for setting proper amps and air pressures. This is another informative and educational video. Well done Brandon. 👏

I just watched a video and the guy butchered the thought of buying a cutter. I watched you, and your presentation was spot on. The information was key, I may add. If someone reads this, I think a DIY-er would have a great time with this, and on a budget, it's well worth it. Maintain it, keep it stored in a designated spot, and you're good to go. I WOULD ALSO ADD YOU CAN GET A 220 PLUG SMALL WITH A ROUND GROUND UPRIGHT FLAT AND LEFT SIDE FLAT AND CAN PUT IN A 110.

@@BrandonLund it's clear to me that you are a KZbinr that I can trust to deliver factual information. I assume that you took the time to assess the other videos on youtube and took notes, because you were precise in the delivery of ALL of the necessary information. I am an aspiring KZbinr and your channel is a good model. Sidenote: nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breathe & the reason why the edge of plasma cuts will skate a file is due to that nitrogen, which nitrides the steel as the forced air blows on your cut, in direct contrast; the oxygen is 21%, and oxygen + around 2200f turns solid steel into an explosive fuel. That's why sometimes cuts shoot sparks for a short time. A lance is a good example of this principle. Aloha 🙏

Brandon first off my condolences to you and your family on the recent passing of your mother. Like many others here on the channel, I too lost my mother in May of '08 from heart disease at age 60. Even though that was nearly 15 years ago, there isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't cross my mind. I still remember that phone call from my dad as if it were yesterday 😔. Knowing that she is in a better place brings a sense of peace that helps ease the pain. May you and your family find that same peace and comfort to aid in the pain of losing a loved one. I hope that the viewer that donated the plasma cutter to be given away finds peace and comfort too for the loss of their friend. What a thoughtful gesture for sure. Thank you Brandon for taking the time to produce your informative videos which I am really enjoying. I am a newer subscriber and do a lot of DIY projects around the house (especially automotive). I recently just purchased a 120/240v flux core/ mig (gasless & gas option) welder for my shop and this plasma cutter would be a great addition to my tool arsenal. I'm so sorry about your mother, Brother. Im glad she's not on pain. Focus on the good time. It helps. That plasma cutter is sure cool!! I gave away two welders myself. One was mine, one was given to me. I think the fabrication community tends to help each other.

My Condolences to you and your family with the loss of your Mother! No matter how old we are, we miss our parents when they are gone. Hope that the New Year brings Happiness and found memories. Thank you for the incise info on Plasma cutting and what to look for as it has been a big help. So many options it can be confusing at times, especially when all you have been around are tanks and torches.

I'm sorry for your loos too man. It's never easy losing a parent. My dad passed away from cancer in 2011 and I still think of him regularly.

Sorry for your loss, Brandon. You can take solace in knowing that her suffering is over...but it still makes for a difficult holiday season. I can relate to your hardship - On Christmas Day of 2020, my father had been in the hospital battling Covid for 3 weeks. 2 weeks later, he lost the battle. And then just before Christmas of 2021, I lost my mother to cancer. It really made this Christmas a bitter-sweet one for me and my family. Best wishes to you and yours. Very informative video! Anyone new to plasma cutting will get a lot of good from this. I use my plasma cutter all the time - don't know how I ever managed without one!

Thank you Brandon, for your wonderful style and obvious joy at sharing: knowledge, yourself, and lightness. I share condolences on the loss of your mother. Grief takes as long as it needs to, it'll soften eventually, but I'm sure it is hurting, so hearts pour out to you. The day we lost my mom about a year ago, the realization came that while there is likely more sand in the bottom of the hourglass than the top (for many of us), the top is hidden and God only knows what's left. So we should make the most of every grain. Thank you for making the most of your grains and giving yourself to others, your mom done good..

First my condolences for the loss in your family. 😪 A d.i.y. help for flash burn I have used for years is a drop of mineral oil in the eye before bed. Chilling the oil a little is also comforting. Great program again. I have noticed in the past ,teaching youth how to use cutting torches is very discerning to them once they understand the volatility of the fuel mix. Learning to cut would be a breeze with one of these without danger of SERIOUSLY injuring oneself from burns or explosions. Hope the manufacturer's take note about the proper male plug install before someone gets injured or a fire results. Excellent call Brandon! Now, if I can catch Santa before he goes on vacation I can convince him him that a plasma cutter would save some pain and $ by the addition of one of these to the shop!😁👍👍

Thanks David for the great comment and that awesome tip! I've even tried to convince the ER to let me take some of their numbing eye drops home to no avail. The last nurse said "I know how you guys are, you will leave here grinding stuff and not resting and getting stuff all through your eye not knowing it" LOL it was like she knew me LOL. Torches have their place but this is just so much more convenient
