Hey brother I really appreciate this video. I'm in the process of starting my own business and ordered my plasma table and everything. This was very helpful for me to understand how nesting was done. Thanks!

Hey Man, cool, cool on the video, and wishing you much success. Just a side note question, with the spacers you made to keep your cut materials square, couldn't you have left off the added piece you welded on so it would not sit higher and be in the way of the torch? In other words, couldn't you just use a piece of plain ⅛ th inch plate with nothing else added to it so the torch will always clear? Thanks

We cut thicknesses down to 14ga and a lot of that material isnt exactly flat and can have quite a bit of bow in it, we are actually running a lot of that right now. That extra piece up there helps a lot on that material with giving a bigger area to hit. You could get by without it but we just make sure we are back off the edge far enough. I shouldnt be cutting out that close to the edge anyway. On a lot of the thinner material we will run it with the inside of the bow up, in other words the center is down on the table and two edges are raised up. We then have some small c clamps we use to clamp the edges down to the table. Really only works with this table because we converted it to down draft and have the space below it for the screw part of the c clamp.

@@TabooCustoms Thanks for the reply :) sorry, I mean depth... it looks like 2-3?

@@TabooCustoms I'm actually building my own downdraft and wondering at what depth would a sheet 'survive'. I can see you cut over a channel in the middle of the table that seems to be surviving over time, and it looks to be at the same depth as the bottom of the slats?

Yeah I think they are 3 inches deep. The original tray was two trays bolted together in the middle. I just cut the center out of both and left them noted together. I've cut a lot of sheets on it and have yet to completely replace the slats. I have rearranged the slats a couple times to swap high and low use areas.
