I have an LG 60pn5000 plasma TV. The TV was running then there was an audible pop and no sound power or standby light. I've taken the back panel off of the TV and after watching your video I noticed one of the 2 fuses that should have a light blue circle running horizontally across it is black instead. Hi Jimmy, I have an LG 50PS11. We heard a pop, then had no picture. However there is sound. Fuse on power supply is fine. One of the capacitors appears raised and discolored. It is labeled C373. I don’t know how to remove from the board.

I have a Pioneer pro-1150hd. i have replace the voltage regulator board and it worked fine for a few days but the flashing blue light is back. After watching your videos I think it could be the power supply.The tv will not power up sometimes but if I unplug it and plug it back in after a half hour it works fine temporarily.Does this sound symptomatic of the power supply board?

Hello, I have a LG lcd tv model # 47lg70. The problem is the color black/shaded areas has white lines through it. If the picture has no black, it looks fine. This problem started a few weeks ago, went away on its own but returned today. It almost looks like the black is a negative picture. I took the tv apart, all the capacitors looked good and jiggled the connecting wires to make sure they are secure. Also took an IR thermometer and couldn't find anything over heating.

I have an LG 60PA6500 and I went to turn the tv on one day and nothing happened. The red standby light wasn't on either. I opened the back of the computer up, checked the PSU and it is working properly. Once I disconnected the main board the tv relay clicked and the tv appeared to be running (screen wasn't on and obviously no sound). We had a severe storm come through with lightning, not sure if the tv caught a surge through the HDMI cables or not. How can I check the main board? Worth buying a new main board or attempting to repair? Thank you in advance!

I have a 60" LG Plasma (60PA6500) that is about 4.5 years old and just 6mo out of warranty. About 3 weeks ago the TV started to act strange and began to stop recognizing signals on the HDMI inputs (would just display "No Input" even when the device was providing one). I was able to usually get it to work by switching the hdmi cable to another input and then switching to that input on the TV. However, just yesterday, the picture seems to have died completely. My 43 inch Samsung Plasma (PN43F4500AFXZA) just had the power supply fail from the looks of it. I heard two loud firecracker pop's and the screen went dead. I did not smell anything burning, but the back of the TV was quite warm, perhaps unusually so. This isn't my main TV, but I do love it and would hate to switch it out for an inferior LED. Do you have parts to repair this? I would imagine the entire power supply board would be the easiest for a layman like me.

Hello shop Jimmy, I watched some of your youtube videos for help. I have a panasonic 50 plasma tv, (model no. is tc-p50x3) (Serial No. is MB10950029) (power rating120v 50/60 hz) My tv will not turn on. No lights or nothing. I do hear a small faint buzzing sound when i plug it in tho. Last year we had storm and lighting hit real close to our house and blew the tv out while i was watching it. I did have it plugged into a nice surge protector but that didnt seem to help. I took the panel of the back of tv and it didnt seem to be any burn marks. I was hoping the fuses where blown but i cant really tell since they are soddered on and cant see into them. they seem to be ok i believe. Im not sure if i need to replace the power board or just scrap the tv. any ideas. thank you

Chris carlson This sounds like a TV panel (TV Screen) problem. If your TV panel is bad, it may be more cost-effective to replace the TV as panels are typically hard to find in stock, difficult to replace, and expensive. Hi - thanks for the videos. I have an LG Infinia 60PZ750 60-inch 1080p 600 Hz Active 3D THX Certified Plasma HDTV with Smart TV. Initially, the some colors on some shows, would start freaking out and were muted and wrong. After about 2-3 weeks, the TV just shut off. When we try to power it on, it comes on (based on the light on the bottom right), but nothing appears on the screen. Hey Jimmy! I have no issues swapping boards or even doing soldering repairs. My issue is diagnostics. I have a client's LG42PA4500 that died suddenly while I was activating her satellite system. Her receptacle had an open neutral so I am suspecting that. Here are the symptoms: 1. No picture BUT would show a power light. 2. This light finally disappeared after approximately 20 minutes. 3. The ONLY visible indication of power to the TV is a light blinking every 8-10 seconds on the AV board. 4. Fuse has continuity and I have 120 to the board at the power entry point. 5. NO obvious caps blown...... Where to begin.........

I have a panasonic TC-P42X60. Awhile back lighting had struck a tree about 500ft away from my parents home and ever since then the hdmi ports do not work. Within the last few weeks the tv has been overheating and shutting down and takes awhile before it will let it turn back on. I had remover the main and power supply boards nothing seems like it got hit by lighting but one capasitor on The power supply is bubbled and the bottom side look like it got severly hot. The main board like fine (but im new at this). What id like to know if possible would it be quicler and safert to just replace the board or take em in and have them repaied

Hey Jimmy, I have an LG 50PN6500 and the screen turns off randomly. When it turns off, there is not the typical relay click. The panel seems to be in a type of standby but not fully off. There is no sound and the power light is a solid red, but it never clicks off. I cannot turn it back on with the remote or hard button. I must wait for it to come back on by itself - usually about 3 minutes. It will automatically turn itself back on after I wait. I have done a full reset using the menu but it didn't help. Sometimes it stays on for hours but sometimes it can only stay on for about 10 minutes. It ofter turns off when I press the menu button or change channels. I bought the TV from a guy on Craigslist and he swears it never had a problem before I transported it, but its notable that it may have happened in the process. Please help, I'd like to know what board is most likely causing this.

Hello I have a Samsung 50 inch plasma model# 50pfp5332d/37 Serial# ya1a0736004394 It just shut off so I pulled the back off and tested fuses. The 8 amp fuse was blown so I purchased a new one and put it in. When I powered it up smoke come from the two white box components labeled r 800 and to the left of the fuse so I unplugged it quickly. I looked it over but failed to see anything. So I powered up again and all seems fine but have no picture now. As I was typing this I noticed a large black cap...(Top left corner) bulging. What could be my problem and what would be the best fix?

Hello there, I have a pioneer pro-111fd with very loud buzzing from the rear of the panel. My research has lead me to suspect that the power supply may be the issue. I understand that buzzing is inherent in plasma displays, however this is what I would consider to be abnormal and is very loud and annoying. It seems you are out the power supply board for this particular model. Would would you suggest I do?

Hi! I have a very similar board to this vid and it literally went ‘pop’ a couple of minutes after power up today. Upon inspection, the green MOV/varistor looking thing to the right of the shielding where the mains c13 socket is was cracked in half! What would cause this and is the fix simply replacing it? It reads just under 5ohms even though cracked in half!

I have a 60" LG plasma tv. Model: 60PB5600. A few seconds after powering on, the screen lights up a light grey color for just a second, then goes black. When the issue arose, there was a small flash of light, and a small plume of smoke from behind the unit. With all the research I have done, I'm thinking its the YSUS board, but I really don't know. There are no visible signs of swollen capacitors or burn marks of any kind anywhere on the boards. I would really like to just find the replacement board kit, but not having any luck finding one. TV Plasma Lg, model 50PC3D-UD, Chassis PA5ID, in power supply The resistor R 929 is burned in the power source. This resistance was changed and it was working well. After 15 days, when it was disconnected from the outlet and reconnected, it was burned again. Previously, Q906 was also changed. Thanks.

My Panasonic Viera 50" has 8 blinks. I didn't see any of the videos that had 8 blinks. Therefore, someone need to address the 8 blink problem, it does exist. I''ve disconnected the y board just to see if the blinks would change but they did not. what's up with the 8 blinks?

th-50pz700u operates flawlessly using antenna input only. All other inputs display no pic. hcmi sync will turn on my blu ray player however; but no pic. osd is also good. Is a replacement DG board the only solution ?

I have an LG 60PA6500-UA that has NO Picture or Sound. I have the RED stand-by and when I press the power button I hear a click (which I always heard) and the stand-by RED goes blank. I looked for bulged capacitors, but nothing visible stands out. I followed the Tutorial in regards to testing the Y-sus and X-sus boards, but the POWER SUPPLY board clicks no mater what. I did notice that when I disconnected the Y-sus board I got a RED led on the main input board and a flashing GREEN led on the control board to the left just below the power supply. Thank you

Hi. I have an LG plasma 50 inch, model number 50PCSD-UC. It will sometimes take several tries to get the tv to power up and then it will not have a picture but will have sound. I watched your videos and replaced the y drive boards (top and bottom boards), now it still takes several tries to get it to come on and now I just get a lot of colored lines and areas but still no picture. Hey ShopJimmy, I Have a 50 inch Zenith. I hit the power button and it acts like it wants to come on.The red light comes on and stay on. But the picture does'nt. I hear it click to come on when i press the power button but it never does. Please help. I took back off of the tv to see if any capacitors were damaged but saw nothing.Any Suggestions?

I have an LG Model #60PN6500-TB. After a couple of minutes of running, the screen goes black. There is still sound, but no picture. When I push the power button on the remote, it takes longer than normal for the tv to turn of. When it does turn off, I can turn it on again immediately and it will work for a couple of minutes, before the process repeats.

I have LG 60 PA 6550 UM S/N 207RMCJCX835. The red light comes on when plugged in. When I push the power button on the light flashes a couple times then quits and at the same time it starts making noise but screen is dark no picture or other sound. I have no remote for it and the settings button when pushed doesn’t show any menus or programming options. I have not looked at fuses or circuit boards yet.

The Tv was working fine until we got a lightening storm and the tv shut off. when you press on the power button the tv sounds like it goes on and the you can see the red light on the tv. Thanks for the video. I have a Samsung PN64F8500AFXZA ver US01, S/N Z6PU3CDBA00847E. It was built in Oct 2013. It died while we were watching it. No picture, red standby light blinks slowly, no picture on restart.There are no suspect looking components or discoloration on any board. Unplugging the board on the left when viewed from behind -Y-sus? - makes no difference to the symptoms. Any advice? Please note: we're living in Germany. We've run the TV off a heavy transformer for over a year without issues.

I have a 50" LG plsma TV,model 50PJ350R.There is no video or audio,even i do not see the TV tries to prime the plsma screen.Voltages in the Main,Y Sus and Z Sus power supply boards are correct.Any idea where should I check further there is no short circuited MOSFETs in any of the boards or any blown fuses or capacitors , found-Only one or two right most COFs out of 16 COFs getting heated quickly and makes the entire heatsink panel at the bottom hot very quickly Please guide me.

i have a Samsung FP-T5084 plasma. i just replaced the 4 capacitors that normally go bad on these and now the TV turns on as it should and the sound comes on but no picture at all now. Do you have any direction as to what causes this symptom? Previous symptom was the typical Samsung problem of clicking when trying to turn on. Thanks.

Hi my lg plasma 60pz570-tb starts up fine for a few minutes then the screen goes black but sound is still fine ,so I turn off at the remote for a bit and turn it back on it starts up fine again , sometimes blacks out again sometimes it doesn't ..can you give any info on what's going on would be much appreciated 👍🏽

Have a Samsung PN60E7000FFXZA tv. Tonight it powered up as normal with sound and video but then after 30 seconds or so, the tv turned off and noticed red power indicator light wasn’t on. Tried unplugging tv for a while but still nothing. FYI, for sone time now it’s been turning off by itself and then coming back on after a few minutes. Love this tv and would like to be able to fix it. Thanks.

I have a Panasonic TH42P2700U Plasma TV. It will not turn on. No blinking lights no sign of life. What process would you recommend? Could it be the fuse or is a complete power supply board replacement the necessary approach? The day before the TV would no longer turn on it was hard to get it to change channels and very difficult to turn it off with the remote control. Thanks.
