Watch out for Plasmacam. They are know for their bait and switch sales. If you want full capability you will need to buy advanced Machine Control, advanced torch height, advanced machine control, automatic nesting, etc. It never ends. Everyone of these options literally costs $998. Well actually Advanced torch height costs $1,998. Also plan on $1500 for an air compressor and $2500 for a plasma cutter. $1000 to run multiple runs of 220 volt to your garage.

I just got into welding. I would love one of these. But the price, I mean, shit on me. haha Also, I don't know a place that I can get a computer that has the port. I got a thing in the mail, with a book and a DVD to watch about this thing today. Interesting.

Do your research. The metal art market is overflowing with people with these machines undercutting each other. Not to mention that as soon as your city catches on they will shut you down. Metal cutting is only allowed in heavy industrial zoning areas. Not residential.

Yes. When you get it, you have to build it. Be wary. There are a couple different models that are very similar. The cutter we got came with mismatched parts from two different models. After 2 months we're still putting it together, mainly shipping delays. And it does take a specific computer connector. NOT a printer hookup. @ 4:38... well, it does help to be a computer genius.

I have beem looking at buying a plasmacam for a number of years, but being a welder for over 30 years, I really cant see the money in the units,12000.00 usd witch here in Canada we have to look at the extra 30% on the dollar, for a tin frame, a few cheep servo motors and a little link box, the rail the torch runs on, from what I can tell from the hundreds of vidios I have watched, the rail is a folded tube made from tin, hardly position, then a goffy hand torch holder, I talked to plasmacam to be a sponsors to my channel, as I mfg parts for heavy equipment, I fabricate thousands of products ,, nothing to do with any art, as I cant see making anything on art, put yet all the promotion and ads plasmacam runs are all placed around the arts and crafts, well that's not for me, I cut minimum 3/16" plate, lots of 3/8", 1/2" 3/4". up to 1-1/4" and a tin frame that is promoted as an art unit, even in there free catalog and cd they send out, only shows a bucket ear made from maybe 1/4 or 3/8 "plate, one photo of that types of work. I also custom build pontoon boats/house boats out of aluminum. any why when I asked about getting a unit as a sponsors for my you tube channel, they wanted nothing to do with me when I told them what I build for over 30 years, well that alone tells me a lot about the 5'x 4; unit for 12,000.00 USD- I HAVE REALLY NICE WELDERS THAT I PAID MUCH LESS FOR IN THE TOP NAME BRANDS, AND A GREAT LATH. THAT WAS NOT MUCH MORE, AND NO NOT A CHEPP OFF SHORE MINI LATH AND NOT A USED ONE. A TIN TABLE, AND RAIL SYSTEM, COME ON!

I wouldn’t buy one and I can say that because I did buy one and I regretted it every day you can build a table a lot cheaper and buy a lot better programs and what they have. They will suck money out of you just as fast as they can and will offer no help when you have a problem.
