Plastic Lens Distortion, Color Light Leaks, Dust, Grunge, and Good Times in Photoshop!

In this tutorial, we'll check out a few techniques for creating the artistic look of a simple plastic analogue camera. Vignetting, light leaks, distortion and chromatic abberation - all the things which modern high end cameras have tried to minimize - will become our tools for creating unexpected, playful images. There's nothing more fun than ruining your photos in Photoshop!

Holy crap. The editing. The way you have all the steps perfectly listed, down to the mini curves icon that shows the whole removing one point and bringing the white point to 220. Absolutely amazing. Your tutorials just get better and better.

@@Texturelabs Ha! I don't know if there is a great mind on this side, but there absolutely is one on your side. I successfully turned this into an Action, and there were a few things to remember to do in the steps: 1) I turned the original image into a Smart Object by doing a Cmd+J to copy it. This way I can use the Toy Camera Effect like a template and do a Smart Object Replace command to swap the image for whatever I want. 2) I committed the embedded texture overlays when placing them, then followed it with a Transform step with a dialog in the Action turned ON with each of them so I can adjust them on the fly. Works really great Brady. I didn’t have to do too many Lens Correction steps to get what you did (probably about 10) but this can always be changed in the Action by either dragging the step to the [+] or using the fly-out menu and choosing Duplicate. I am having a lot of fun with this one. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.

see there is good adjustment tool in tune image of snapseed app called ambience that darkens the white dynamic range and lightens the white dynamic ranges of photo. i want to see how we can do that in photoshop, i am sure photoshop is much more efficient in doing that stuff but i didnt see. maybe that is based on curves.
