one big advantage metal pegs have over plastic is doing stalls, esp Ice picks and stuff. The metal peg locks into the stall way more stable, ice pick stalling on a plastic peg can be scary depending what youre stalling on

Been running plastic pegs since 2010. Would never go back. I've never broke a peg that wasn't worn paper thin but they do wear out much faster if you're on concrete. Gotta rotate them when they get flat spots.

Idk... never bought a set but I think plastic pegs have metal cores so I'd imagine once they wear out u can replace the plastic? I have a set of small metal pegs that 1" PVC pipe slides onto perfectly so I use the black high strength PVC with a self tapping screw on each peg .. obviously the screws are oriented on the top of the peg so it doesn't interfere.. but even still it takes quite a bit to wear hard plastic even on cement ledges..just look into drift trikes with PVC back wheels..
