It was about saving on cost of production and transport as well. Plastic is a lot lighter in weight and cheaper to produce than glass. It's Capitalism. A big part of the reason more and more plastic is produced and inserted everywhere is the profit margins. And it is artificially inexpensive. As I learned in your last video, PFAs, for example, inflict thousands of times much damage upon our environment than the value added or profit gained from there production. With the thousands of chemicals found in degrading plastics they must be similar in the amount of externalized cost carried socially and environmentally. And just the sheer quantity of all that plastic, yuk!
