Forget prop speed ... mount a single Hull Shield HD1 transducer to your bellhousing or if you have a "shaft saver" then mount to the thrust bearing and the ultrasonic will keep your prop barnacle free

We’ve gone with trudesign too 🙌🥰 looking forward to seeing how long they last, with being a steel hull, we confident we made the right choice 😅🤞🏻

I’m (Hugh) really excited by them. They are serving us well so far!

They are not “plastic!” They are a composite made of nylon and fiberglass which provides a significant amount of strength.

Hi guys, really enjoying your videos. Down here in New Zealand there's a product called Prop Speed as an antifoul for your prop and shaft which has really good reviews here and overseas. I think you can get in in the UK and definitely in Europe. We’re about to haul out and it's what I intend to use. Keep up the good work, I'm catching up to your present day videos. Cheers from down under Graham

Thanks for this. Glad you are enjoying them. That’s a great tip we will look into it. It will be haul out time again before we know it so great to have some suggestions on tried and tested products

Marinas are, unfortunately, known for having stray currents in the water; leads to the anodes being sacrificed more quickly. Not all of them, but it's certainly more prevalent than on a swing mooring where there's no 240AC nearby. I've seen a few boats in marinas with anodes on a length of wire hung over the side, and connected to the ground/negative. I presume the owners use them as an indicator of anode wear on the main anodes (if they're over the side a lot - when you're out sailing, the anode wear should be pretty low).

Thanks for the comment. We were amazed, on both our Widebeam and then the Dutch barge the anodes lasted years! Hopefully these will last a little longer now we are out sailing. We have also bought a set of spares ready to go when they are needed.

Looks like my other comment got eaten by an anti-spam system - silly KZbin. I've got a TD valve on my heads now, because of space constraints, and the desire to have a T-handle on the valve. The old valve had a standard handle that moved 90 degrees, but to close the valve you had to push the lever from facing outboard to facing inside of aft, which is nigh impossible to do through a small (less than 1 foot across and 4 inches high) access panel from the front of the valve area. Was made even harder by the ends of the bolts for the head being just above the valve handle - scratched knuckles all the time. With TD, we were able to get the valve assembly rotated so that the T handle presents forward to the access hatch, and it's SO much easier to turn now. If you didn't notice, TD also have electronic monitoring handles, if you ever want to go full connected boat and have a status board for all the seacocks :)

Thanks , I always enjoy hearing your perspective on things. That’s mad that you can monitor your seacocks digitally!
