We had a bunch of footage of installing the long-range wifi but hit a last-minute snag and couldn't get the wifi booster to work. That issue was solved while rendering the video. We'll start next week's video by installing and testing the Yacht router mini and Wifi booster :)

This is the first time I’m leaving a comment on any KZbin video. Ive been watching your channel over my guy’s shoulder for like four years. This was the best ever, in my opinion, because I enjoyed Ava’s tour so much. I appreciate the sticky note approach to chores. We did the same thing when we were fixing up our Tayana 42 back in 2018. There will ALWAYS be chores, so please Mads, make sure you get off the boat and enjoy the “now” with your adorable fiance. You guys are so cute! We wish you all the best.

Another great vlog …. thanks for the Warrior tour, Ava. That ship was sold for scrap in 1924 and became a hulk used as a fuelling barge before being rescued and returned to Portsmouth in 1987. Mads would likely have described that restoration “somewhat extensive” ….. 🤣

An excellent presentation as usual. Eva you have a lovely presence and I enjoy your commentary immensely. You're looking well Madds/Mazz? and hope your doing well too! I'd say keeep up the good work but you are the instigator of this massive oddesy. Y'can't stop now! at least we hope not. One thing I find funny is that the only crew members that had anything like permanently established or at least purpose built billets were the Command and Senior Officers(maybe) and those who frequented the Brigg!

My father served his apprenticeship in the Portsmouth dockyard as an engine fitter during WW II. The story I most remember from him was about D-Day. He said he went home from work on the eve of D-Day with the harbor filled with ships and personnel only to arrive the next day with the harbor empty. My grandfather was a CPO on a ship docked their and had dinner with my Dad and grandmother at home the on the eve of D-Day and never mentioned a word about the invasion. Luckily for my Dad and grandfather, both survived the war. I’m looking forward to more of Ava’s travels in Portsmouth as that was my birthplace.

I’d recommend you get a Seagull filter. I used one on well water in Cambodia for a few years. Most ‘water filters’ are only taste filters but a Seagull will filter bacteria. I know this because I also had my well water tested before and after the filter. This will be very important when you start collecting ‘fresh’ water from various places. I’d advise putting it between your fresh water tank and a dedicated drinking water tap.

Mmmm, we use Digital yacht for the 4G booster, much faster than trying to get WiFi at a marina. Spectra watermaker and, sin of sins, a Glomex aerial dish at the top of the mast for that essential UK winter TV, once you've re-watched all the Sail Life videos! Loved the Portsmouth shakedown, much more interesting than the relentless Caribbean offerings. The devil is in the detail, and your list will turn a build project into a home, now get that table finished for Eva! Great video.

Going to London, you could get a train from Fenchurch Street station, forty minutes later you could be in Southend- on- sea, then you could go on the longest pier in England, one & a quarter miles long. It has it's own railway to get from one end to the other. Ava said she loves a pier, this one is exceptional.

Don't forget to drill a drain hole in your chain locker. Also a saltwater hose is nice to keep the anchor chain clean as you bring it up from the stinky sea floor. Otherwise your forward berth might smell from the dirty chain in the chain locker.

@Ava - you need a small course in operating Post-It notes. When you pull them from the bottom of the pad, the note will curl, and won't stick to the bulkhead very well (guess that is why you have secured them with tape). If you pull the post-it from the side, they won't curl, and stick mutch better...

My dictionary gives BOTH pronunciations. But it's a word that is rarely used in the US for what we call a wharf or dock. Just like what the English call a queue, we would call a line. Our word 'key' for a small shoal island, comes from the Spanish 'cayo' (cay) and the French 'quai' (quay). Maybe it would be a good idea to spell words the way they are pronounced, or pronounce them the way they are spelled. That would eliminate confusion, as it was meant to.
@samwebb5853 жыл бұрын
@@bdphourde that’s a truly interesting origin for the word, thank you! I have always loved that language is a product of its’ environment. Re spelling it as it’s pronounced - that’d certainly make it simpler, English can be cruel!

@@samwebb585 Most languages have words derived from other languages. That's the melting pot. But for aluminium and aluminum, at least we both pronounce it the way we spell it.
