I'm happy Dr. Dubrow has learned the value of being conservative when it comes to performing plastic surgery. This is the same guy that participated in at least a couple of plastic surgery competitions, The Swan and Bridalplasty. These shows involved him performing head to toe plastic surgery on women to make them beautiful. On one of those occasions, one of these women said that they didn't want some of the procedures he was suggesting, said that she actually liked those parts of herself. He spent the rest of the episode complaining about how she didn't reach her full potential of beauty, because she said no. Like I said, I'm happy he's grown as a doctor and takes a more conservative approach, but I'd be curious to see Dr. Youn's take on shows like that.

It's probably because that's not how working out works & getting the sorta defined muscles you see on superheros or body builders is as a result of long term dehydration. That's the thing here, a healthy human can't possibly have such defined muscles, we *need* to have fat over our muscles to protect our organs. In this case, the guy was probably thinking he was replacing a harmful practice (continuous dehydration to have defined abs) with a practice he thought was less harmful, & just wasn't aware of what the actual harm here was gonna be

There are laws prohibiting such practices but laws are not well implemented here.

Money and a Dr who doesn't care
@katydid50883 жыл бұрын
As always, it's up to the patient and the Doctor. Just as people can refuse proceedures,medication, and advice , conversely a person CAN choose to undergo procedures. Technically, so long as he manages his post operative care with the doctor, there's no good legal or ethical reason NOT to do it. Technically, this person is mentally ill, but also technically, they feel better and are more at risk of harm and have refused less invasive (and arguably more productive and less risky strategies) like psychotherapy. One of the inherent contradictions of psychological and general medical practice is that while physicians can for example, have tests,evidence, and other objective signs of some form of dire illness, the patient maintains the right to refuse so long as they are 1)Cognizant of the risk to denying a recommended treatment and 2) Not at risk of harming others in their refusal to undergo treatment for themselves. It's why Heroine addicts can walk away after being given Narcan and Psyche Wards cannot without massive legal representation, involuntarily hold or retain patients. If they can walk out on their own, most states can only hold people for 24 to 72 hours. Until they become a risk to someone else or they get found by the police or EMT paramedics. All of his doctors, you can bet have a c.y.a checklist a mile long with the obvious caveat that at the time the patient CHOSE this procedure. They cannot guarantee the results long term or the psychological negative of positive effects. But therefore, having given consent cannot hold another physician liable UNLESS they can prove another form of negligence.

@onetwothree93 жыл бұрын
true, but even Henry Cavill is not as shredded as he looks in his shirtless scenes. I mean he is, technically, but these extremely defined abs are actually the result of intentional dehydration. When you don't hydrate enough or at all the skin becomes thinner, giving you this chisseled look. If you compare pictures of Cavill just chiling at the beach and his movie scenes, you will notice a difference. It is not because he lost the muscle somehow or gained fat, but because he had enough water. That is actually a very insidious trick of the movie industry that not enough people no about. Bodybuilders do something similar before they compete if I am not mistaken.

aging plastic surgery would be my biggest worry (outside of complications) if I ever got any. Which is why I don't plan on having any altogether but if I want to in the future (my mind could change) im at least giving myself a minimum of age 40 because who really knows what multiple major plastic surgeries will look like after decades with so many of these surgeries being only a few decades old themselves when first performed and even less once it gained popularity.

This reminds me of another guy trying to look like someone. Have you heard of the KZbinr Oli London? He was on Dr Phil and everything last year. He has had several plastic surgeries to look like Jimin from BTS. Problem with that is that Oli London is Caucasian, not Asian. I'm curious to know what your thoughts are on that one. Love your channel Dr. Youn!

Fortunately, due to the lack of money, many more of us would get plastic surgery if we could. We don’t like what we see in the mirror. LOL🌻

6:45 that explains why when i have a cut or scrape the skin that comes back is always several shades darker. i'm mixed race but since i rarely come out into the sun i look very pale.. however if i were to go out in the sun more i would be a lot darker.

It's saddening yet unsurprising that the Philippines is so lax about plastic surgery. I hope he somehow finds a change of heart and tries a healthier lifestyle.

I never understood how the people on those shows could save that much money for so many procedures like even if you go to some countries where plastic surgery is cheap it's still coast a lot of money. They don't seems super rich though In Europe where plastic surgery is really expensive if you can save money for at least one operation in your life you'd be lucky but 23 surgery is so much 😂

Those sites where people donate money for things like; funerals, cars, housing , etc... I don't know but I couldn't pay for anything like plastic surgery.

would you ever make a video about top surgery/gender confirmation surgeries in general? like, why some folks need revision surgeries afterwards, how your body reacts post-op, how to heal most effectively?

So much respect for Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Youn for reminding this guy because yes we’re all positive he’d regret this as he becomes older. While he looked like plastic, he definitely doesn’t look botched, he actually looks good and just needs to work out. This guy needs to take a look at Bretman Rock, a fellow Filipino who’s being the guy he is exactly wishing to be like. This is the right way to be an inspiration to kids, radiate self love and contentment in general.

for a guy who's had mostly unregulated backstreet surgeries in the Philippines, his face is honestly looking a lot better than some celebrities that pay top dollar.
