Doctor, one can stretch skin 0:18: there was an African tribe, probably still exists, that tribe fattened up brides and pounded the fat to other places, And that example doesn't explain the skin stretch, like in a piercing/plug, but I did sculpt my ex wife from the acup-DDcup. Duck lips is what 0:17 must be wanting.

Yeah that’s a weird way to word it. I’ve been asked about my marital status at every health care facility I’ve been to, and for good reasons, but it’s usually “are you currently married?” Or “what’s your marital status?” Which both seem more professional than what the doctor asked ger

I worked at the Olympic Training Center in colorado springs for many years. They regularly use cupping in the sports medicine and sports science department to help with recovery. From what I understand, they don't use it necessarily because it has proven benefits, but they use pretty much anything that might help, outside of drug treatments. They are pretty limited in what they can do pharmaceutically because of the USADA oversight, so they try a huge range of techniques for recovery. Spa, hot tub, ice baths, massage, chiropractic; if it has even a slight anecdotal positive feedback, they are usually willing to try it.

I’ve been told over and over that collagen supplements don’t work for people with connective tissue disorders like EDS. Can you please clarify this.
@katie-kb6qd
@katie-kb6qd 3 ай бұрын
I think it’s bc the collagen in your bones are a bit different than the skin. You can’t really replace collagen in your bones/joints but i think the skin can build up more? Ik the bones cannot replenish it. You also have to take a very specific type of collagen that he mentions here, bc any random collagen supplement won’t work for anything

I've had problems with TMJ. I remember one time it was locked for hours when I was younger after I made a big yawn. And I was crying because it was like 1am and I just wanted to go to sleep. Eventually, massaging the area to relax it and trying to "click" it back into place worked. I'm glad I didn't have to go to the hospital like her, but I totally understand the panic that sets in.

I had terrible TMJ to the point where my jaw was locking at least once a month. Braces and bite correctment is too expensive at the moment so I got botox done about 2 months back, just on the Masseters. All the locking stopped and I haven't had a locked jaw once since then! It's unfortunate because I'm still only 20 and I can't get this too often due to the possibility of developing a tolerance or something and of course, cost, but I'd say it was totally worth it. No more clicking, locking, headaches and the strain radiating down to my neck

My kid had two rounds of braces and a few surgeries to get everything correctly set in her jaw to decrease the TMJ issues but the masseter Botox is what finally gave her relief. I think both approaches helped based on the CT of her jaw but the Botox did the most.

For big foreheads, a lot of people go off the "Golden Thirds" ratio for the face. Splitting the face into three sections, hairline to eyebrows, eyebrows to bottom of the nose, bottom of the nose to the chin. I have a big forehead, and my widows peak does not help lol, but I have that golden ratio, so even though my forehead is big on its own or in comparison to someone with a smaller forehead, my forehead is balanced with my face and to change that would harm the balance of my proportions. I saw a tiktok of this beautiful girl, who had the perfect ratio but did have a large forehead. She got the forehead reduction surgery and it completely threw everything off, she was still beautiful, but something felt off, the balance was completely ruined. You really have to take a step back and view things as a whole, rather than singling out one feature and comparing it to other peoples'.

Exactly. Small foreheads are not automatically more beautiful. They can make people look like they're wearing a bad wig. Large foreheads were considered youthful cause all babies have them and it is one of the key facial characteristics why we find them so cute..

I used to go to a massage therapist that did cupping on me (with the small glass ones) because I carry so much tension in my back and neck that I was constantly getting muscle spasms in my back and I couldn’t move my neck as far as I should have been able to. She never just put the cups on and left them there, she would put them on and run them across my back before leaving them in a certain area. It actually did help, along with the deep massage. The thing about menopause… I lost both my ovaries at 34 and I’m now 51. This October I’ll be 17 years post menopausal. I can’t take synthetic hormones, so I couldn’t take the replacement therapy. I’ve paid dearly for that… Despite making sure I did all I could to get as much calcium as was possible without the constipating supplements, I was diagnosed at 49 with osteoporosis among other things. On the inside, it’s like I have the body of a 70 year old woman. On the outside I’ve been fortunate. I don’t look 51, my skin isn’t thin and frail… But the rest of me is falling apart. It’s not a fair trade, but if I’m going to fall apart, at least I’ll look decent doing it, I guess…

1:33 I had an open lock of my jaw that was the most exquisite pain I have ever experienced. I'd gotten it during a root canal. The dentist had put a bite block between two back molars, as far as my mouth would allow to open, propping it in a wide, yet very unnatural position. I'd had it in for about three _hours._ 🤦🏻‍♀️ Never once did this dentist take out the block to allow me to let the jaw loosen and flex for almost 3 hours. So, at about one hour after the procedure, when I was eating...wait for it... _an apple,_ and (like Dr. Youn had said), the condyle slid foward out of position between the upper and lower mandibular bones and my jaw *_locked open._* The pain was...omg...hands-down, the worst pain I had ever experienced, bar-none. The pain was so bad that, in those days, they prescribe methadone because the sui¢ide rate from this type of skull, neck, ear jaw and the SCM (sternocleidomastoid) muscle that runs from behind your ear down to your sternum and back to your rhomboid muscle that is attached to the shoulder-blade of the back, hence the pain that emanates to a dozen different places. In not kidding, it is, no joke, one of the worst pains I've ever felt and it took almost 3 weeks for it to reduce on its own, which was the course my doctor recommended.

This is awful. As a dentist it breaks my heart to hear patients going through this. A suggestion i would make if you don't yet have a new dentist is look for one who is TMJ certified because if there is an incident of lock jaw most of the time they will be able to relase it at the dental office.

04:21 Don't forget the co-factors required to build it. Vitamin C, Manganese, Copper, Sulfur (MSM) and Zinc. The proteins on their own are not enough.

The poor lass with the open jaw. I have TMJ as part of my Connective Tissue disease, mine locks shut and it's absolute murder at the dentist. The pain is brutal. Poor lady with the opposite 😕

My nutritionist told me I needed more protein and fiber. I get a big container and add equal amounts of powdered creamer, collagen, and fiber and just mix in my coffee. I don't even taste it, makes my coffee creamier without extra creamer, and I get more than 20% of my protein goal, and almost 40% of my daily fiber goal.

What type of fiber do you use? The only time I tried it with a hot beverage it became gummy and weird.

Ah, so that's how my phobia called. Tbh, I thought it's only me. Im also for some reason scared of sea fish but not cz they can hurt me (except spiky things) but cz I can hurt them and it creates some weird panic in me. I also feel safer when I have a mask and can see under the water tho (but not if there are fish 🥲)

So I started menopause at 37, nothing worked and finished at 39. Now, 20 years later, at 57, the collagen decreases, which makes total sense, and I think I look much older now and have thought maybe sx, but I am doubtful it would really make a difference. What say you?

buccal massage actually feels is good lol, and helps with the muscle swelling from my teeth grinding. ( it doesn't help with the actual teeth enamel obviously , but it greatly improves the pain on the jaw muscle)
