Just got from a confusing tutorial from a channel with many subscribers, and found this video and was surprised how straight forward it is. You just earned my subscription

Great video. I am learning 3d printing and CAD is a large part of that. As I watch the vids and follow along your instructions are very easy to follow. Thank you for making these vids. Keep up the great work!

I wish I found this sooner! Probably the best beginner friendly tutorial I have seen so far. Very clear and calm instructions plus the mentioning of all the key strokes and possible mistakes that can happen is great. Thank you very much.

Awesome tutorial! Thanks so much for putting this together, I'm coming from a Solidworks background, so there is a bunch to get used to here, but I really like plasticity, and I like the way you make the same body in a few ways and highlight the key commands

Great tutorial, thank you. Question: you demonstrated that editing the original sketch doesn't change the resultant extruded solid, so how does one go about modifying the solid if there is a change? Using your project as an example, say you wanted to decrease the diameter of the 10 revolved holes from 10mm to 8mm, how would you accomplish this?
@bobjoe159310 күн бұрын
I believe based on another tutorial i saw (im looking into this as an option to add into my workflow), the face representing the hole diameter can be selected and moved/ scaled (and i assume the edges of the hole can be selected at one object face adjusted to add a taper)

Clean interface, real time, intuitive modeling experience. I am sure they are (Blender, C4D, Fusion, Autocad) taking notes. I hope Adobe doesn’t buy em out to kill the software.

Its a software you buy and own, adobe have one year to kill it once you buy

Im completely new to this CAD world. Helpful tutorial. I had to ask GPT for instructions to change measurement units from meters to millimeters. Preferences(top left)>units>millimeters.

You're right, I didn't mention it in this video. I made a new video about changing units: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpexlp6gqdODe6s

Brand new to CAD and designed my first 3D printer project in like 30mins just using this video as a guide. Tried Fusion 360 first but its gonna take serious time to learn. Plasticity being able to measure to one thousandth of an inch is close enough for the girls I go with.

what did you design? Interesting.

@ A spacer for a set of plastic dually center caps. Pretty much a thick ring with 6 hole cut outs along the edge. Kind looks like a gear.

I am currently using TinkerCAD and would like to switch to more advanced software like Plasticity, but I have already noticed one potential problem. I create objects in which I will later place magnets, so I prepare several versions with different sizes, which I print and then test to see which version fits best for round magnets, for example, with dimensions of 25mm/10mm. I check if the magnet fits too easily or maybe too loosely, and based on this, I choose the best version or make minor adjustments and print again. Will I be able to easily change the size of a hole for the magnet (either enlarge or shrink it) in Plasticity? Thx for your help!
@start3dmodeling17 күн бұрын
These changes are easy to make in Plasticity. You can select the hole face and drag the gizmo to change the dimensions, but you can also type in a specific value by which you want to change the dimensions.
@Rejken17 күн бұрын
@@start3dmodeling Thank you for quick reply and clarification! I'm glad to hear these adjustments are easy to make in Plasticity. I really appreciate your help-keep up the great work! 😎😎

Dude raneom wuestion related to your videos: when i listen with a headset i can hear a very faint conversation in the background. Noticed it in various videos. Do you know what it is? Almost as if viceo was dubed.
@start3dmodeling3 ай бұрын
Yes, some videos are dubbed. I didn't hear it myself, but it's possible I didn't mute the second audio track. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye on it.
