To help us keep warm in winter we wrap our windows in clear plastic. It helps add a thermal layer and also keep out the nasty winter winds. In this video Colette shows how we do it.

Excellent! Our boat’s previous owner used plastic on the inner side of the windows, it gave a kind of a double glaze effect. I understand that the most important point is to cut thermal bridges due to metal (aluminum?) window frames.

We just found u guys and saw u remove the plastic a year ago. Several of your videos have mentioned not using plastic bottles etc for the environment. So how do u like using plastic on the entire boat? Kinda defeats the thought of less plastic?

Great point! There isn’t a good alternative to wrapping the windows and entire boat in anything else. Let me know if you know of anything, we’ve thought about making something reusable but it’s just not available We try to live our lives as eco friendly as we can in other aspects to offset the waste that is inherent in boating.
