Although Stalingrad was a nighmare for Axis forces and facing a lot of odds,the Axis soldiers such as Germans,Romanians,Italians,Hungarians,Croatians and others defied the cold to face the Red Army meaning the individual soldiers were so insane and also surrendering to the Red Army was also so insane because they could be killed on the spot or far worse by anger,of course facing conditions in gulags is also an insane bravery regardless of recieving death. All of them are heroes.
