From my experiencing leading in Line Battles from Napoleonic Wars (Mount & Blade) its better to say "Form a line on me, on my right (or left)" and remain stationary. Consistent movement confuses people because they're attempting to form on *you* specifically. It takes some getting used to but getting a line to form on your avatar is easier than explaining to 20-50 people to form on an invisible reference point

I’m no French commander, But I do know a bit of tips. It would be better to just stop at a spot and tell ur men to form on you, the technique you are using rn might be confusing as you can see how disorganized the line. The 2nd was charging, you lacked charges. I’m guessing you were a 25 man line, so you should definetly charge more against smaller lines even if your line is mostly made up of depots. ( newbies )

For sure, I got a lot wrong here but after spending 35+ hours editing and reviewing my footage I feel well equipped to learn from my mistakes. We actually just played Barraux and performed incredibly well. I agree with what you have said as well.

As a former solider in this game something that helped me on the field is when forming a line the officer would line up putting a base point where to line up. Just a tip I’m not a commander though so good luck in the future.

I'm not exactly a commander neither an officer but I have some tips I can give you when leading: -If you are being cornered / encircled the best thing to do is this thing called "Fire and charge" Where you fire first and immediately after charge and target the flag has that is the way people respawn -The current tech requires a ton of charging so it is vital for charges has a common practice -The more you command you get better so if you participate has a ranker in different battles you can learn yourself how to lead by listening wel l to the commander

Try to form your troops as the C shape then retreat when the enemy forces gets close close in them so you make an O around the enemy’s forehead its a dangerous tactic but highly effective

a little late but, typical 18th-early 19th century battles were decided by the charge. you would never just line up opposite of the enemy and fire until one line collapses. you would get within max effective range of your muskets and slowly march towards the enemy line while firing. once within a certain distance, you would fix bayonets and charge the enemy line. that was why you were being chased so much, if i had to guess. you need to be aggressive unless you're in a very favorable defensive position.

When they smashed the wall you should have used it as a bottleneck defense. Dont abandon a perfect chokepoint. It is almost impossible to win a bayonet charge attacking a narrow choke point
