Is it even possible to put every animal in one franchise zoo? I'm going to find out! Today we add 7 new species including Addax, African Crested Porcupine, Black Rhino, Dama Gazelle, Desert Horned Viper, Dromedary Camel and Somali Wild Ass into the Every Animal Zoo! My challenge is to create a profitable Franchise Mode zoo that will eventually house every animal in Planet Zoo. Join along as we learn how to create a successful franchise mode zoo together!
👉 We now have a DISCORD, with community games, giveaways and more! Joint the fun here / discord
About me: I'm Plastic Swans and I do a lot of wacky stuff with Planet Zoo, like racing the animals and time trials. I like to call this kind of thing wholesome chaos and that's what I try to do most of all on the channel. I also make one-off habitats and zoos, and I also make the starter habitats for Planet Zoo, a collection of ready-made franchise/challenge compatible habitats for every animal in the game.

I mean to be fair dromedary camels are invasive in Australia so you could justify that.

That heat wave was an absolute killer! I live down south and it kept reached 32 every day for a few weeks. Because my wife suffers really bad with asthma and COPD we had to buy an air con just so she could breath! What commitment getting up at 5am to film! Full props to you for that. First time commenting but omg I love this series! Best series I’ve watched in a long time. Great work plastic 🥰

how you handle stress in walk-through enclosures is the same way you handle stress in non walk through enclosures, sure, have some areas of the guest path where the animals can walk through and around the guests, but have significant sections of that guest area stuck behind one-way glass. Particularly blocking sight-lines to sleeping and eating areas. This lets the animals choose to get up-close and personal with your guests when they feel like it in those open sections, but lets them quickly dart behind the glass again if they get stressed, and let's them sleep and eat in peace. It is extremely important for walk-through enclosures, even for some confident animals to keep these sleeping and eating areas private because those are the two times when an animal is the most vulnerable, and it needs to feel safe and comfortable. When I saw you had made the lemur's sleeping structure so close to the guests, and without that front wall, or any 1-way class blocking that direct sight-line I knew it was going to end poorly. I guarantee you if you just cover the front of that sleeping structure up with some 1-way glass panels, and put a bit more 1-way glass between the guest path and their food platform, the lemur's will be alright with the guests again and you can put the path back through.

Finally watched all the videos, so all caught up now rofl. Amazing work. Definitely more animals than I managed in my first attempt ( currently at 121 animals across 35 species with under 5000 guests and 267 staff ). And you inspired me to try to do more custom work and take some of the strain off of the engineers rofl.

I found out you can use the 4m viewers on a stand to use the burrow cameras. The visitors appeared to watch it and it’s classed as viewing the animal.

I totally agree about the walk thru habitats. I don't do them. The guests just overwhelm. Haven't tried the walk thru exhibits yet.

I have all 3 varieties of walkthrough exhibits in this zoo, and they're almost completely empty! Guests treat them no different to the small exhibit boxes in terms of popularity. It's the walkthrough habitats, I feel like there's some kind of coding going on to make them ridiculously popular the sheer volume of people wanting to see them!

@@PlasticSwans True. Its especially annoying with the Flamingo, which can be a walkthrough, but there is literally no point that they can be, since they will even freak out in regular habitats because they are shy animals.

The black rhino is more aggressive, so if you put other animals, it might get agitated
@nickdentoom1173
@nickdentoom1173 Жыл бұрын
Yeah agreed. Although i feel like it should depend on the animals as well. Like, if you put a naturally calm animal in alongside the agressive one, it should be fine (Like for example the Ostrich isn't that calm of an animal either, especially the males, same goes for the African Buffalo and they can mingle with other animals).

These enclosures are amazing and a little question do you think your computer will survive by the end of this series
@PlasticSwans
@PlasticSwans Жыл бұрын
Really hope it will! We're getting to the stage where I am nearly ready to deploy the 'emergency measures'. This will involve running the game on my PC and capturing footage via a capture card that will record it onto a laptop. It's a bit of a faff, but I'm ok with that. I'm more bothered the quality might drop because it'll be dropping back down to 1080p rather than the 1440p I'm getting currently.

The things with the animals and trash bins. The animals won't nugget over. If it's in the habitat It is only when the animals escape, they go through trash bins. As far as I have seen. I may be wrong but yeah.

Interesting that none of the Rhinos have interspecies enrichment. My local Zoo houses Rhinos with Zebras and they seem to get along fine. Also, Peafowls are let to roam free in my local zoo so having walk through enclosures are the best way to replicate that but I agree that it stresses the animals out so much, I avoid using them even though I would love to.

I tried a world zoo myself but after hitting 250 animals and 4000 guests (or more) the game was almost unplayable. It could be my hardware but with others commenting similarly I was wondering if you have started noticing more playability issues? This is the first I’ve seen of your videos so apologies if you have mentioned it in the past. I’ve now decided to go the alphabet route and putting no more than 15 species in each zoo and it’s turning out more workable now with pausing when I’m designing habitats and placing buildings and unpausing to get the animals enjoying their lives.
@PlasticSwans
@PlasticSwans Жыл бұрын
It's certainly slowing down! I noticed performance started dropping after around the first 30 habitats. Limiting guest numbers helped. Biggest issues now, it takes 5+ minutes to load up, when the game auto-saves it stutters for about 20 seconds which isn't great if it happens when I'm recording. The lag in general is starting to get worse, so choppy movement of the animals, oh and that new cinematic camera feature added to the game? Yeah trying to use that on this zoo is pointless because of the lag.

God I hate how annoying the guests can be in walk-through enclosures. I tried to make a zoo with just walk-through habitats once and it was a mess. Even confident animals were getting stress alerts all the time because there were just *so many* people. The zoo in my old city had a walk-through for Australian animals with the ones that can't have people around them in separate habitats and I was there the first day they had the Tasmanian devils where the habitat was inside the walk-through area. I was in there for a good couple hours watching them and even with a brand new animal there was never so many people around that animals were getting upset, the kangaroos were happy to interact with people the whole time and nothing was hiding. From memory they had a keeper in there the whole time to keep an eye on things as well as answer questions.
@PlasticSwans

That sounds like an amazing walkthrough experience! Yes it really frustrates me that for anything not sandbox, the walkthrough stuff is pointless since you can't limit guests forcing their way through. Every walkthrough experience I've visited IRL has limits on number passing through!
