If you already have the tactical hangers you could also use a pipe flange screwed into the stud with short piece of pipe and a pipe cap.

We made T-hanger/supports down range to hold out kit vertical and let it air out and make it easier to put on. Kind of looked like a mobile cross :-P

I've fabricated hangers out of black iron pipe from Lowe's really easy hold's helmet plate Carrier war belt and go bag Wish I could post a picture
