Are you experiencing foot or ankle pain? Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy might be the solution you've been searching for. As a minimally invasive and cutting-edge treatment option, PRP can provide relief for various foot and ankle conditions, such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, and ankle sprains. In this video, Houston podiatrist Dr. Andrew Schneider explains how PRP therapy works by using your body's own healing abilities to promote faster recovery and reduce pain.
The PRP treatment process involves drawing a small amount of your blood and processing it to separate the platelets and plasma. The concentrated platelets are then injected directly into the affected area, promoting natural tissue regeneration and reducing inflammation. Patients often report relief from pain within a few days or weeks after their first session, and improved mobility and strengthened affected areas, allowing them to return to normal activities sooner.
PRP therapy has many benefits, including reducing pain, improving mobility, and speeding up the healing process. Additionally, PRP treatment is a safe and effective alternative to invasive surgical procedures, activating the body's natural healing mechanisms with an average treatment time of just 30 minutes.
PRP therapy has shown promising results in alleviating symptoms and promoting healing for a wide range of foot and ankle issues, including chronic tendon injuries, acute ligament injuries, fractures, and degenerative conditions such as arthritis or joint deterioration. After receiving PRP treatment, the time it takes to notice improvement in foot and ankle symptoms can vary depending on the severity of the condition and the individual's healing response.
While PRP therapy is generally considered a safe procedure, it's important to be aware of potential complications and risks associated with PRP injections for foot and ankle conditions, such as pain at the injection site, swelling, and bruising. Additionally, PRP treatment is not covered by health insurance and may be expensive, but it can provide long-term relief from pain and other symptoms associated with these conditions.
If you think that PRP injections may be the right treatment for you, let's discuss it! Contact the office and we'll get you in for a consultation. Don't forget to like, comment, and share this video on social media to help others find this valuable information.

I had two PRP injections after the Ten Jet procedure you performed didn’t help me. Unfortunately the PRP therapy didn’t either. My PF improved only after I started working on strengthening my calves, hamstrings, quads and hips. Over the last 15 years with PF, I’ve seen four Podiatrists and had two surgeries. Not one of these Podiatrists ever suggested that the root cause is further up the chain. Podiatrists always treat it only as a foot problem. Wish I had figured it out a long time ago. Before you decide on surgeries and expensive treatments, consider strengthening your legs to take the load off your feet.
