Platform as agents of enterprise improvement | PlatformCon 2023

In 2016 Walmart Labs' CTO implemented a strategy to improve business goals and engineering excellence, by challenging every team to move to daily delivery. In this talk we'll discuss the platform's central role in implementing that strategy, and why only providing better tools alone would have failed. We’ll also provide tips and warnings for others looking to use platforms to improve delivery.
This is an experience report of what we did at Walmart to use the platform as a lever for improvement. We’ll discuss how we drove platform adoption, the results of that strategy, and the challenges many similar efforts face.
