Not a lot of people know this, but Elvis Presley had an identical twin brother who was sadly stillborn, his name was Jesse Garon Presley, RIP to both. I was lucky enough to get the chance to take a tour of Graceland, way, way back when I was 12 (51 now), it was awesome, sadly we were informed that the tours were not as long as they had been, they had to cut it practically in half due to so many thefts during them, not sure what it would be like now. Elvis and the Eagles were my two favorites, when I was little, I would put on the oversized headphones on throw in one of the two 8 tracks in and pass out in a large leather rocking chair, so getting to see Graceland was an awesome experience, we also got to go to the grand old Opera House while there, another favorite (if you get the chance definitely worth a listen) Boxcar Willy was standing outside so I got to meet him, had such a blast. Have a safe and wonderful weekend, 👋🙂👋

Perhaps you can review his interview after the Army in 1960. He just got off the train and went to the interview. In the Ghetto was written by Mac Davis and Davis asked Sammy Davis Jr. If he wanted to record it and he said no, but Elvis was born poor and might know about the ghetto. Elvis agreed and added, “And his mama cried”. Elvis understood the anger from poverty. His own father went to jail for writing a bad check but Elvis chose humility and worked for a living.

@@timcarr6401 WRONG. From Wikipedia, plus I was there and saw him, with them, in concert multiple times in the 1970s. From Wikipedia: "In 1969, the group recorded their fourth album, Sweets for my Sweet. The Sweet Inspirations also began recording and touring with Elvis Presley as both background singers and his warm-up act, as well as doing occasional live dates with Aretha Franklin. The association with Presley became well-publicized as he routinely introduced the Sweet Inspirations (along with the TCB Band members, the J. D. Sumner & Stamps Quartet, and Kathy Westmoreland) on his telecast concerts and live recordings. The Sweet Inspirations worked with Presley until his death in 1977."

Two of The Sweet Inspirations did various interviews about Elvis that can be found on You Tube - Estelle Brown & Myrna Smith. Cissy Houston, mother of Whitney was the founder of the group and sang with Elvis for a time & she spoke about Elvis as well. Myrna & Cissy have since passed but Estelle is still alive and has done relatively recent interviews about her years singing with Elvis. A Graceland tour includes viewing Elvis's home, the wall of his gold, platinum & multi-platinum records & albums, some of the cars he owned over time, his motorcycles, the outfits he wore on stage & the home itself which was considered to be a mansion when he purchased it age 22 but nothing like the size of celebrity homes now. It is the 2nd most visited house in the U.S. with the White House being the first. Thanks for another great reaction.

"The Vicious Circle" was the original title of the song "In the Ghetto". Sammy Davis Jr turned the song down because he had not experienced those environments but knew who had so he recommended Elvis. At first songwriter Scott Mac Davis didn't like how Elvis pronounced ghet-to but he soon changed his mind. He had a huge hit in his hands... Great reaction. Respect! 👏

Hi Krizz!! 🌟🌟 Just wanted to mention that the songwriter for In The Ghetto is Mac Davis who is from my city of Lubbock, Texas. According to Davis, In the Ghetto was inspired by a Black childhood friend of his who grew up in “really funky dirt street ghetto” in Lubbock, Texas. Mac Davis wrote four songs for Elvis Presley: "In the Ghetto", "A Little Less Conversation", "Memories", and "Don't Cry Daddy”. He started out writing songs for himself and then he just blew up as a songwriter. He even wrote a song called “Texas In My Rearview Mirror” which was about him leaving Lubbock to find his happiness in Hollywood and to become a star. He learns in the end that happiness WAS Lubbock, Texas growing nearer and dearer and he meant what he said in the song. He was flown from his millionaire lifestyle after death right back here to Lubbock to be buried in his jeans!!! This just happened a few years ago. He is buried in the City of Lubbock Cemetery which is the same place Buddy Holly (Holley) is buried as this is his hometown also. These two as well as numerous others artists are in the West Texas Hall of Fame. Elvis used to come through Lubbock and have late night jam sessions at a local BBQ, live music venue owned by a wonderful black gentleman named EB Stubblefield whose joint was called Stubb’s BBQ who allowed those boys to have a good time! Sorry, got carried away with my trivia!! 😂

James Brown and Elvis would both use gestures or hand signals to communicate with their bands and singers. If one of his backup singers screwed up during a song at a live show, James Brown, without missing a note, and with just one hand, would tell who messed up and how much he was fining them. Anyway, Elvis and James were very good friends and I don't know if Elvis would dock a singer's pay, but, he sure doesn't look happy after that kinda sour note @ 7:15 , right at the end of the song. Was that seemingly out out of place karate yell at the end, some kind of signal, too?
