Here’s all the Sonic platinum/100% I got so far: Unleashed, Generations, Superstars, Forces, SA1DX, SA2B, Sonic 4(both 1 and 2), and Frontiers (although I plan on redoing Frontiers on PS4 since all my achievements for it are on Steam and I want it on PS4 for consistency) Hardest for me so far: SA2B and Unleashed Most fun: SA2B and Frontiers Good job on your journey so far! Awesome! Thats an awesome list! As you'd get from the tease at the end, I'm working on Unleashed at the moment, and I totally agree that its the hardest platinum so far. I dont think SA2B will be as hard, but I think it'll be longer?

@@platipete I agree on Unleashed is technically harder. But a bit of background about me, I played Unleashed as a teenager to death. So getting good enough to beat Adabat and Eggmanland for the hotdog missions didn’t take too long. I had no such background for SA2B. As a teen I played it once, got E ranks on half the missions and never touched it again. lol So everything on SA2B was fresh and grinding to get good for all the A ranks took longer and at times felt harder. I’m sure if I played them both fresh, Unleashed would’ve been harder. But regardless, you’ve demonstrated that you have the skill to finish both of them. It’ll be grindy, but you definitely got this

@@platipete A tip btw for Unleashed. Turn down settings to 720p. Should give you more FPS in certain areas. It’s still pretty choppy, but it should give you a bit more leeway

Look it doesn't perform incredibly, but it's not egregious like some parts of Unleashed and 06 on PS3. Not a hard game overall, but there are some difficult parts

I came close to Platinum myself but I could never get a handle on the Time Eater boss for the life of me. The fight was slippery and floaty at the same time to control and I’d always take at least one hit before landing my three hits.

As you saw, it didnt take too many attempts. The boss is pretty similar each time, the attack patterns are the same, so its easy to adapt. You can do it!

The same trophy came back in Shadow gens. But it took me one attempt to do. Technically two but it was me beating it normally not knowing the trophy was still in effect. Then had no issue handling it from there.

the time attacker achievement took me so long to get on steam! it was bugged for months and it just finally unlocked randomly one day after I decided to give it another go. it also tends to crash the game on steam, potentially not recording your progress, so you literally have to keep playing and pray you get it lol

Thank you for this! Sonic Generations is a great game, and playing this gives you good practice for when Sonic X Shadow Generations comes out. By the way, I have some things to ask point out and ask you. 1 Did you know that there is a statue room in Sonic Generations? Go to the Collection Room, then stand to the right of the Movie Chair to the left of the Art Painting, and by either holding the Back button on the Xbox 360 or the Select button on the PS3 you will then enter a trap leading to the Statue Room. In this statue room, there are 55 statues. You can enter the six-digit Sonic Generations passwords to get these statue figurines. You can find those codes by searching for the Statue Room on the Sonic Wiki. Maybe you can make a quick follow up video to this one by showcasing that and a couple of other aspects of this game that weren't mentioned in this video like the Casino Night pinball game for Classic & Modern Sonic and the Sonic Generations port of Sonic 1. 2 You hinted that Sonic Unleashed is the next game you will Platinum. Do you have all the DLC for that game as well? 3 Since I'm on the subject of DLC, do you have all of it for the other games you're going to cover? 4 I have a suggestion for when you're covering Shadow the Hedgehog the game (which I'll refer to as Shadow 05 in the future for short hand). Instead of doing just one video on it, make a series on it covering all the story pathways. For that game, in order to fully complete it, you have to get the 10 endings, complete the last story, get all the keys for the secret doors (they make the levels easier at least for the majority of them), get all A ranks for all the levels and bosses, complete Expert mode, and fully complete the story possibilities library. You can probably cover all but the last of those objectives in one video. There's 326 pathways and you'll have to do 10 of them to get the true ending leaving 316 left, but that is still a lot to cover. You can make a series of shorter videos covering a few of them at a time. This could serve as some nice side content between bigger videos. Maybe 10 or if that's still too much for perhaps 5. Go in chronological order and when you encounter a pathway you already covered to unlock the last story, just do a quick mention of the name of it and the path you took to get there. To find a list of all the story names and the level choices to get them, look up Shadow 05 on the Sonic Wiki, and up top you should see a section called Library Sequences. Click it and it will take you to a page that lists all the stories and what choices you have to make to get them.

Thanks for the feedback, and thank you for enjoying the video! 1) Yes, I do remember that! I remember getting a rare figure that came with a code for the statue room. I'll have a look at whether I can still access the DLC or not. 2) Sonic Unleashed is such a large game already so for the platinum run I'm not using DLC. Or...I might, depending on how something specific goes today. A full completion run would be really interesting though. I'll look into it... 3) For the other games I'm planning on covering right now, I dont think DLC is overly necessary as a lot of it doesn't affect the platinum run. That said, its not even 7am here so I cant quite remember what I'm covering. 4) I really like that idea! Shadow is one of the few games thats going to be tough to get hold of AND record for me, so its a lower priority. I definitely want to put more content out there in the space, but its more finding ideas that gel well and are worth the viewers time. I've got plans in place though. I've been trying to get all the achievements for this on Steam, along with playing Frontiers too. I'm surprised how long it took me to realise that Frontiers uses these level designs, with some visual and path changes. So at least my knowledge of Frontiers made playing the stages in Generations a lot better for the first 3 sections. I only need to finish getting all the red star rings now (but since I've got 2 accounts I guess I have a lot more to do in Generations still xD) I also challenged myself to S-Rank all the challenge stages too, which went both pretty well and very painful. Some of the levels have forgiving times and others feel like they just hate you. I've found that my favourite song in the game is Sonic Boom. I always have it play during the final boss, since it gets me more immersed into the fight (I think that's the word I'm looking for :p).

@@platipete That's the thing, I genuinely didn't have any issues with him this time. Missed the S-Rank by 2 seconds on the first attempt, then beat it by 10 seconds on the next. Not sure how I managed to do that xD

i reemember on the 360 you could make profiles at the press of a button and so I would just 100% this game over and over on different profiles, overall I did it at least 20 times

(although the time attacker achievement was always bugged on xbox so I ALWAYS only got 97% which was really jarring and a big reason I'm glad I can finally actually 100% it for once with the shadow release)

You can make extra profiles easily on PS4/5, havent really tried on PS3 though. Thats mad about the time attacker achievement though. I was so worried that it wouldn't pop here for me too!

English: This is my favorite sonic game since 2016 when I played it on xbox 360 and a few years later I played it on pc via steam and platinated it in the meantime they announced sonic x shadow generations and I (obviously) was excited wow a remake/remaster (I don't know if it's one or the other) of my favorite game of my life I was extremely happy... Until I realized that they were going to remove the original 2011 game from stores to make its place for this remake and then I thought "why not redo this platinum on PS3 to make it look good on my PSN profile?" And then I borrowed the ps3 from my uncle and did this... and man q game GOOD really serious even with the low performance and problems aside (especially the bugs) this game is very good and all the phases without exession are really excellent and all of them are very fun but anyway good video (I wish I had written more things about this game and the video itself but this comment is already getting long so I think I'll leave it like that). I've managed to get all but one trophy within the three weeks that I've owned this game. Trying to avoid all the debris in the final boss fight is gonna be a nightmare, but it'll worth it, once I get that trophy

Avoiding the debris seems to be the same debris each time, so you should be able to memorize it.

True story here: Sonic Generations was the first video game I ever 100% completed and got all Xbox achievements on. I managed to collect every Xbox 360 achievement on the game back in 2013 when I was only 10 years old, and it was pretty much the game that kickstarted me to collect every achievement/trophy in video games. I’m currently going out of my way to 100% every single Sonic game before the new Sonic x Shadow Generations remake releases, as a symbolic way of neatly coming full circle. To finish my last Sonic game with the one I started with nearly 11 years ago

One of the 0.8%ers right here. I didn't think the plat was that hard way back when I did it. Seems the rarest trophy besides the plat is the one for beating the final boss without getting hit. All the other lowest percent trophies are ones gotten for just playing to completion like unlocking all the special skills in the game, getting all the collectibles, and playing ranked time attack on every stage.

I didnt think it was a hard platinum either. The final boss one is suprisingly simple with multiple tries as the attack pattern seems to be the same each time. Once you know where to go and how to dodge, its not awful. Its more just a bit of effort to learn the patterns. Hardest thing is the Vector mission and City Escape red ring IMO.

OH THANK GOD there is no trophy for getting all challanges in S Rank, because the ballon challange in rooftop from act 1 is HORRIBLE! Literally the hardest to me. So i'm missing "walk on water" and "you can't touch this", good, i gonna get that Platinum!. This game is so good, yeah the story is weak but the gameplay is goated, letting you select the soundtrack for each map is all. Can't explain to you how much peace it gives me to play Green Hill Act 2 while Endless Possibilities is playing.....Or how iconic it feels the Shadow Boss Fight with Live and Learn

I thought I was the only one that applied an organized method for tackling games' completionism... except I did it to the point of using every song at least once for challenge act in 50/50 distro... and fitting for them On 360 my city escape restored never popped and had to do everything again😅 But damn if discovering the power spindash and wreck your times online is satisfying

@@platipete actually online time attack mode was broken do that achievement was unobtainable for a good time. I found that CSonic rite of spring is a perfect match with Sonic Spinball's track, canonically accurate because springs, heh
