Happy I found you Jamie, I’m about to give up guitar and just continue to play my baritone ukulele. I’m going to give a try again 🤷🏼♀️🥺. I’m 69 years old and love the oldie songs 👍
@JamieAndersonMusic Жыл бұрын
The baritone uke is a great instrument. If you have it tuned DGBE you can use my guitar lessons, ignore the instruction for the 5th and 6th strings. You might also want to try a smaller guitar -- 3/4 size are great -- or get your current guitar checked by a luthier. It could be that your strings are too far off the fretboard.
@pammartin3554 Жыл бұрын
@@JamieAndersonMusic the guitar is a 3/4 Zager, the company set it up with low action, I’m going to watch your beginners series and start over with the basics. I just love my baritones (I have 3) my newest one is solid Oak and the tone is phenomenal and I do use guitar chords and just play on the DGBE strings, the only issue I have the the dreaded F chord, just can’t get it on both the baritone and guitar 🥺🤷🏼♀️

Fun fact about the Battle of New Orleans- I groom Johnny Horton's nephews dogs! I was doing Charlie's dogs for years before I knew! I got a new guitar and had it up at my shop, he saw it and we started talking music and he told me about his uncle, that's when I found out! He brought his classic Martin up one time and we played All For the Love of a Girl🥰 Then he let ME play the Martin- wow! It sounded sooo big and rich, I was amazed that age can do that to wood! I've loved Johnny Horton since I was a kid, which made it so funny that he thought I wouldn't even know who he was!😂🤩 After I found out they were related, I could actually hear the similarity in their voices🥰💖

I began giving the guitar a try for a little over a month now with the assist of the DVD's from Silvertone, and my dad and I hope that I can expand the amount of strum patterns. I've watched through five new ones, as well as this very video and I'm saving the DDU-DDU pattern for tomorrow, and then give "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" a playthrough since that's the one out of the 18 that I remember the most. Wish me some hope! ;)

Hi Jamie, sometime ago you wanted to know what the pompousness of love is: simple - when you are in love, there is nothing that can bring you down at that moment; you act, walk as if the world belongs to you
