One of the biggest reasons why you'd want to use mgba instead of having them native on your system is purely for that fast forward option if you're playing something like pokemon or any other kind of rpg.

Hi, been loving your tutorials thank you so much for them! One thing is though, this emulator is running really slowly for me with choppy frames and audio. Is there any way to fix this? I've read on the mGBA website that they say you should sync the audio but I can't find that as a option to select? Many thanks!

open_agb_firm is a much better option. Why emulate when the 3DS family all have the required hardware to run GBA games natively already built in? For GB and GBC games, Gameyob has better compatibility than mGBA. Don't get me wrong, for GBA games, mGBA is the go to emulator if you're playing on a non-native device like a PC or a smartphone as long as the specs support running mGBA at full speed. But for the 3DS family, open_agb_firm for GBA and Gameyob for GB/GBC is the way to go.

Open agb firm works for all 3ds, It is not an emulator. The 3ds has built in gba hardware in it minus the gba slot gamepak and link cable.

Dude my audio is kind of stuttering when trying to play GBC using this emulator, I'm using an original 3ds, is the system not powerful enough to run this properly or do you think it might be a different issue, and thanks for the tutorial btw.

A lot of the games in green are pretty stuttery, is there a way to optimize the way things run? If that's how high compatibility runs, I'd hate to see low compatibility.

@qahiko_ After a while I found that a gba injector worked better for me, I was able to get all the games I wanted without any struggle, idk why this videos method made my laptop all fussy but id def recommend the injector route instead :))

If you are on an old 3ds, you can inject gba games as virtual console titles, or use gbarunner2, which both don't use emulation. I use gbarunner2 because it's an easier setup. There is certain games that don't run well, but majority still work fine.

After some research it seems the old 3DS isn’t powerful enough to run mgba. This is only for the New versions. Not sure if there’s a work around or not
