I remember watching a tribute Clash band wanting to play the dub stuff instead of the straight roc stuff, they played a few seconds it was obvious that they wanted to play it. But they saw the blank expressions of the audience in the pub, and went back to the rock songs, so sad.

no.most of us didnt have pedals in those days.turn your amp up loud whatever it is.....join a band dont sit in ur bedroom all day

Generally no usually just amp distortion maybe an OD1 or choob screeeeemer

My main amp is a modified 70s fender bassman tube amp. I’d recommend tube amps, but they need to be cranked to get that clash style distortion. Tube screamer pedals can come close

What should I set my bass and treble to?

I like my bass low like 3-5. Treble high 7-9. But you should experiment with what sounds best.

Depends on your guitar and amp, but more on the treble side with a Les Paul, and probably neck pick up and a bit more base on a telecaster for Mick and fairly trebely for Joe.

Yes, that is right. Even though, in America, Give ‘em Enough Rope was released first, then their debut album was released after.
