This is awesome, finally a video on how the system works. Have both games since beginning but for one reason or another I couldn't get into the rules. I think part of that is narrative of the ruleset that was such a departure from other games. Keep up the great work!

And an oft neglected stanza from the song...don't know why, but I have about 5 versions of the song, and only one has that verse...and at this point, I couldn't find that version w/o going through a boatload of cassette tapes...yep, cassette tapes :)

Not sure why other than it highlighting whole the point of the song regarding the Easter Uprising...perhaps this political is to this day very much taboo even among Irish artist to this day? By the way Sinead O'Connor and The Chieftans is by far the most haunting and personal favorite.

Arg, another mistake I made for those of you following along . . . Around the 18.30 mark I rolled to add command points. I should have added the GrdArm Command Rating of 3 to the total along with the 1 from the die roll.

So, to make sure I get this right.. Since the +2 modifier for raised road wasn't included, the fire value for the Pz should have been 9 on the shot at around 47:30, and the 8 would have eliminated the recon unit. Feels like the best strategy may have been to drop the artillery rounds on the Pz if the sequencing would have made that possible? But not sure that's possible because it sounds like you can only move the recon unit once and it has to do its whole move before another unit can act.

@ Robert Gamble, not sure why I can't reply to your comment but . . . Nice catch! Yes, there should have been a +2 Raised Road terrain modifier in addition to everything else. So yes, an 8 from a Dual Purpose attack on an armored unit would have eliminated it. That's two eliminations of the Recon I missed. Rats! : ) And I think your arty suggestion is brilliant too! I hadn't thought of that. Seems that if the Recon unit can slow down and establish contact with the long range arty, the arty can rain down on the Pz. Nice! [EDIT: Scratch that, there isn't any arty in range of the PZ]

If you prep with arty as their second action I think the scout unit can still move as its first action can still be used

moving from a non fire zone to a fire zone hex dose no trigger an opportunity fire check. But the reverse is true

I have Devil's Cauldron and am still holding on to it. Every time I play it though (not for some years now), the ease of "suppressing" (not the combat result) a unit by light mortars or artillery really bothered me e.g. your platoon of Panthers/section of 88s can be reduced to one hex range for opportunity fire by placing a light barrage on it. Pretty easily done and seems quite unreasonable. Love the maps and command system but this just breaks the game for me to the extent that I haven't played it in an age.

Yes, BTW that is a Panzerfaust 60 he's holding. About this time, (late '44) the number of armored vehicles losses to infantry AT weapons became greater than that due to anti-armor; or artillery for that matter.
