This was a nice idea in theory. I followed your instructions and couldn’t login to my steam account and the clicker was so fast it was impossible to login on my Quest 3. I tried and kept failing steam login. It was awful. Finally ran out of time and gave up. I hope other people this works for, but the time it takes to simply login into to steam vr sucks, couldn’t do it.

Don't you also need to install the Meta software to use a Quest with Virtual Desktop for this? Does it have persistent storage or do you have to re-install everything every time like with Plutosphere?

But is there a way to do it without a computer at all? I feel like connecting it to a computer anyways just defeats the point. Update: I found out if you run Shadowpc in the oculus web browser you can do it without any other devices. Just treat it like a pc and it's cheaper.

Not really and you have to pay as you play. Nothing is free once you download the game. it's a constant pay me, pay me, pay me. smh I had a gaming computer, but the Oculus 2 was not that good. the 3S seems to be a better improvement but I don't want to constantly have to pay for time when the Oculus cost over 300 dollars.

@380fade yeah the service is cloud gaming so of course there's a subscription involved since you are basically using someone else's PC. It's worth it to subscribe when I'm away from home for a month or two

How is the latency when using vr for this option. I travel a lot and this seems like a great tool to play on the go I just dont eant to deal with horrible stutters and bad latency. I know it deoends on your Internet connection but like ball park is it truly worth it for vr.

@ hello. I ended up canceling. Service has too many “are you human?” Security checks. I found a way to bypass them but it interfered with gameplay too much. They have a 4K tier coming soon. Maybe I’ll check back then. It works well for cyberpunk VR though. Storage is also a problem. They only let you have like 128 gigs then you gotta pay more. Shadow has more storage.

Yeah, I mean it’s not the services fault because AWS charges them 50% of that but I’d still recommend saving up for a gaming PC. It is a cool service though if you want to try out PCVR gaming one weekend.

Yeah, it should considering their system requirements. Just make sure you have quality internet and a ping of less than 20ms (it will show you on the Stim website before paying anything or starting up your machine)

You could use the quest browser to set up your account and launch the virtual machine but you still need a streaming app like virtual desktop to connect to that virtual machine.

The fps on the cloud pc will be good definetly but due to streaming to Vd it may vary.

The company has to pay Amazon for their server whenever someone uses the service. It works good for some people, some people have issues. It depends on your location to the nearest AWS server and the quality of your wifi. Before you pay anything you can check your latency on their website. If it’s under 20ms you should be good. I’m not affiliated with the service at all, I don’t get a commission or anything, I’m just letting people know it’s a technology that’s available because I think it’s cool.
