Sad day today, I remember him cheering me up after a bad day at school. His performance of Kitchen Symphony on the Hickory Dickory album was priceless.

When they shot this(1992), Play School was filmed in one take, most of the mistakes and John's antics went to air. After 1999 it was filmed in segments and the fun feel was lost.

I loved Benita, and Noni. Is really funny watching Trisha Goddard, I've been living in the UK for 12 years and am more used to her morning talkback show she used to have "Trisha", is hilarious watching her do kiddy stuff. And loved the rocket clock!

John was known to say innuendos to other hosts and apparently he also was drunk or tipsy while on set.

Thanks. Nice to reminisce and see the rocket clock again. What I love about this, is how compared to say George, or Colin doing the countdown for the rocket clock, John is just so deadpan. It's almost funnier than George or Colin! Anyway, I was wondering, do you have any more clips of the rocket/flower clock from playschool or the windows from the late 80s/early 90s/late 90s, and if you do, could you please upload them to KZbin. That would be much appreciated MrShieldsy100

Apparently they would crack adult jokes to entertain the parents. Even though the show was aimed for pre-schoolers, the hosts would say innuendos to keep parents entertained as well.
@thomaswarren132 жыл бұрын
100%. It was an open secret that it was very dirty for the adults but perfectly innocent for the kids
