I took my 3 wood out of my bag years ago and replaced it with a 2 hybrid because I was taught all wrong. I was told to hit down on it and even take a divot. I’m putting it back in.

Get it out, pop it on a high-ish tee, practice a driver feel to reduce AoA and then gradually reduce the tee height until you get to ground level and apply the same feels. Let me know how you go!

Wow, the golfing education you teach is phenomenal. Love this kind of learning via science. Trial and error got me to the same place and now I know why. My friends thought I was crazy placing my ball for my all my woods closer to my toe to get it in the air without trying to manually help it. I can state without a doubt that it helps me hit my woods so much better. But, like you said, I prefer hitting my irons whenever and wherever I can. Cheers.

Have you been watching me hit fairway woods. The 7 minutes described my shots to a tee. I switched to a five wood because the down strike. I still think the issue is my small slide and tilt backwards in downswing/strike so will carry on correcting that. I will give the moving the ball position forward a go in the meantime.

Great video Stuart. I think this was a reply to my comment I made a few weeks ago about the difference between hitting down with a wood/hybrid vs hitting up. If so thanks for the video 👏🏾👏🏾 as i do have a very low ball flight with my 3 wood. I will be trying to edge the ball further forward in my stance and see how this works for me 👍🏾

@@GoodGolfCoaching Update on my progress Sturat, things are going well. Put my ball position further forward in my stance and the ball trajectory is much higher with my 3 wood . I actually think the trajectory is too high for my 7 wood and i may have to swap it out for a hybrid. My most hated club in my bag . I dread every shot using 3-Wood from the deck, not so much from the tee. Just can not hit it solidly. Thanks for your tip

I’m gonna sound like an idiot now Stuart ,but outside which toe do you mean ? Is your big toe always the default toe because it’s a big difference in ball position from big to little toe ! Honestly a serious question!

No question is silly at all Des. Little too would be too far forward in most cases, but not without a chance of it working. If you struggle with ball flight, keep pushing the ball forward in your stance. Hope that helps!
