Playa in its day was the bomb, I my opinion. The wife and I stumbled into playa in 2007 or 08 and feel in love with the town. The place was the picture of paradise and we couldn’t get enough of playa. It breaks my heart to see it in the condition it’s in now. Sadly we have moved on.

Dude just got back from Playa and your hidden gem was perfect!!! The Hilton beach was horrible and the smell 🤮

I’m so glad the hidden gem held up!! I was actually at that beach a few days ago as well just south of the Constituyentes pier by Wyndham Altra! Water was still super clear 🏝️😎🍻. Thanks for watching!

Crazy fact I am not sure if you know or not that a very large amount of the Mexican beers were started by Austrians after WW2. I thought it was interesting. What do you think?

Yes I’ve heard the same Randy! I think the Bavarians not only influenced the beer here in a huge way, but also the music! The German and Austrian immigrants coming to Mexico post WWI and their brass instruments/polka style greatly influenced what is known as Banda music today. Would be fun to nerd out and do more research regarding the beer! Thanks for the great comment and for watching! 🍻

Why are the beaches eroding? Is it because of the time of the year?

There are probably multiple reasons and definitely a few theories. One definitely has to do with the time of year and the storms… I went to the beach yesterday during a heavy wind storm and the waves were unusually high and strong and pulling a lot of the beach into the sea. A friend of mine here also mentioned: “when they clean the sargassum off the beach, driving heavy machinery, that causes damage and also allows the wind to blow away sand that would be otherwise protected by the sargassum”. One subscriber also brought up an interesting story about middle eastern countries’ ships stealing the sand and dredging the ocean bottom right off the coast of PDC, to build their “sand city”. Hopefully most of this is seasonal, as a lot of the locals say. Thanks for watching!

Hey Erin! First of all, thanks for checking out my channel! As far as the erosion.. some say it’s seasonal and some think it’s more to do with the climate trend. Some even say that much of the sand was stolen by Arab countries to build their “sand city”. I honestly don’t know the full truth but I’ll at least update the status of the beaches. As far as I can see, some beaches, like Playa 38 still look great 🇲🇽😎🏝️

Wow. I was thinking about you this morning as I DO NOT FEEL like logging in and was thinking how to retire early! 😅 I'm going in 4 weeks and crossing my fingers that the beaches are nicer...although I doubt it....PS. for beer, I vote for whichever, but in Michelada form!

Yea Jiji, haha I definitely remember that feeling… the hardest for me was waking up from my mid day nap, after having already worked in the morning, only to go BACK to work all evening.
