Beach looked really nice. I didn’t see much sargassum. Is this a good time of the year for seaweed feee Beaches?

Yes, the winter months are the best times because the water temps are cooler which tends to leave the beaches free of seaweed. Summer months the seaweed returns.

Can you recommend a hotel there? Can you suggest a cenote to go swimming at? Are there a lot of mosquitoes in February? (I’m allergic) is there one thing you suggest we do (no kids)? Thank you

So many choices in hotels on Playa but I always recommend to my friends "The Fives" downtown which is a more upscale hotel only one block from 5th Avenue and two blocks from the beach. Another place is called hotel Mimi del Mar located directly on the beach between 2nd and 4th street. My favorite cenote is cenote Azul. Typically not super busy but one of the local favorites. It's hard to say if there are many mosquitoes since it depends on temperature and humidity but almost all cenotes require you to rinse off prior to getting into the cenotes so mosquito repellent would do no good if you're going to visit a cenote. I would suggest doing a overnight stay in a small town about two hours away called Valladolid. It's a great break from playa and has that small and authentic Mexican town feel.

You should be fine. I've noticed that Walmart has now limited the amount of people inside at one time. Moat bars and clubs are still open late.
