I have known and loved this song since, like many I heard the Eric Burton/Animals 1964 version. Later I learned of the Nina Simone connection. While listening to on KZbin to Simone I came across this Morgan James version. Stupendous. I’m blown away with the passion and delivery Ms. Morgan puts into her expression. So deep, so honest, so from the heart. I’m speechless and in awe of her talent.

Morgan seems to be her best when she is performing with very little behind her. This is a prime example just her and her husband... I am old enough to remember the times when we went to supper clubs and listened to Nat Cole trio, or Tony Bennet with Ralph Sharon., Michael Feinstein... The list is endless... But my all time must is when I was in New York and going to the Cafe Caryle to hear Bobby Short. No Hoopla A great voice and a simple backup.
