I *love* the idea of an all-female JCS. Hell, my sister and I have sung to the Original Concept Recording all our lives, just for fun. (My family's obsessed w/the show.) As for Ms. Bean... I don't know her from anywhere though the name is familiar, and boy, she has a great voice. I wish I had even an ounce of her talent. Still, I find her voice a little too... thin and delicate, maybe? Actually sounds better for Jesus than Judas. Judas requires more than a pretty voice: I'm just not hearing the complex emotions... the anger/ desperation/ resentment that this fantastic number demands. Judas needs a real soulful, emotive voice, something with some grit. Jennifer Hudson, Ann Wilson, probably several country singers but I don't know many by name... maybe even Adele (though I'm not sure she has the acting chops). I'm going too much into this, I don't mean to insult her. It's a fantastic project and I bet she had a fantastic time singing this phenomenal role. I'll certainly be looking for the whole project!

As a huge ShoBean fan and a huge fan of the original 1970 album, I admit this particular video goes to your point, but go listen to the actual album (it's on every streaming platform), I actually think her Judas is the best the role has EVER been sung, everything is there, and believe me, there's no grit or emotion lacking

I would love to see JC Superstar done with Melissa Ethridge as Judas, Brandi Carlisle as JC, Lady Gaga as Herod, Meshell Ndegeocello as Pontius Pilate, LP as Caiaphas, and the Indigo Girls as the Soul Girls.
