Just a lil' backstory on this song: As many of y'all know, over the past few years I have literally been through hell and back. In August of 2021, I moved w/ my family across country from North Carolina to South Dakota. As soon as we got to SD, I caught Covid pneumonia and nearly died. I was hospitalized, I was on oxygen for a couple weeks, but I eventually pulled through. A few months later, the FBI kicked in my door, arrested me and charged me with 4 misdemeanors for being present in D.C. on January 6th. eventually I accepted a plea bargain, seeing as I was only charged w/ non violent misdemeanors I assumed there was no way they'd send me to prison and I just wanted to get it over with and go about my life. Well, I was mistaken. At sentencing, the majority of the prosectors case was pages of my lyrics they had quoted and used against me to give me a harsher sentence. The newly Biden appointed judge decided to take me away from my family, and send me to federal prison for 6 months, over a non violent misdemeanor. So, a few months later I turned myself into the Federal Correctional Facility in Florence Colorado to begin serving my time. I'd done time before so, the first few months went well. The guys had nothing but love/respect for me in there, it was all love for Proud Boys and, everybody I met was a Trump supporter. I honestly didn't expect that, I came in ready for war. But, that was not the case. However, in December I came down with, what I believe was covid pneumonia again. I can't be for certain because, I was never tested and, was denied medical treatment the entire time. And, I never got better. I begged these people daily to help me, sent medical request forms, had people call in, to no avail. For the last 3 and a half months of my stay, I thought everyday was going to be my last. I truly believed I was going to die in prison and there was nothing I could do about it. I didn't belong there in the 1st place, now here I was..., going to die an innocent man, in prison, alone. Every single day, I struggled to catch a single breath. The pain and suffering I experienced traumatized me forever. It was unimaginable. But, god had plans for me. And, I refused to give up. I had to make it home to my kids. So, I held on, I fought for my life, I fought to survive. And, I did. I went into prison 195 lbs, and jacked. I've competed in MMA, and trained entire life. I always eat healthy and, worked out religiously. When I was released from prison, I was 160 lbs., pale, a shell of the man I once was. I could barely even walk. A year and a half later, I've put my weight back on, but I still haven't fully recovered. Some days are better than others but, still haven't been able to get back to working out. Some days it's a struggle to even record music or do basic things around the house. They took my freedom, and they took my health. But, I am determined to bounce back! And, that's what this song is about. The people who doubted me, having to overcome, refusing to give up, no matter what comes my way. There's alot more to this story, the lockdowns, custody battle for my son after he was taken from me when I got locked up etc. I wouldn't be here today without my kids, and without god. And thanks to them..., THE BEAST IS BACK, and I will NOT BE DENIED!
