McCain is also the only guard on the bench who can create his own offense while being able to play off ball when he’s on the floor with other shot creators (Maxey/george). Maxey being out is allowing McCain to showcase that. Sixers bench has always been a sore spot. Not saying it’s great but we finally have someone who can create their own offense instead of watching dudes dribble handoff until shot clock winds down to force a bad shot. He is closer to 6th man mins with a full roster than 15.

I was relatively high on Mccain before the draft. Now the pendulum has swung the other way. I think people are a little lost in the sauce of the last few games. His shot form is really accurate but a little slow, particularly for his height and I think he needs to pull some more shiftiness out of his game. I think one of his big strengths is the way he plays under control. Still really enjoyed watching the last few games. We'll see what happens!

McCain has a more polished offensive bag than Maxey despite being four years younger. It's very impressive. Maxey has greater potential in terms of ceiling because you can't teach his speed and athleticism, but McCain is showing so far that he doesn't need as much time to develop as Maxey did because he's already so advanced in terms of skill. Maxey needed time to perfect his shot and still has room for growth in terms of creating for himself. McCain is already creating for himself and others like a young Jalen Brunson type of guard. Both McCain and Maxey are very good on the catch and shoot.
