The switch was successful for sure, but. I think people underestimate what Nintendo’s market share was in the Wii U and Gamcube eras. A big reason switch sold so well is, the combined their handheld and console markets. This is one reason why I think people who doubt that Switch 2 will be a hit are mistaken.

Nintendo is not gonna do another presentation like Jan 17 for Switch. First, it's a very outdated, unefficient way of communication, there is no reason to do those types of events anymore. Secondly, the Switch 1 was a completely new concept, that's why they needed such a big presentation. They won't need that for Switch 2. The Switch 2 reveal will not be like the Switch 1, the first trailer will be more technical, ex Nintendo employees talked about how the Nintendo of America executives did not like the first Switch trailer at all, and indeed, Nintendo's stock went down after the reveal, because nothing was properly explained in detail, even if the overall concept was promising. I think the Switch 2 first trailer will be way more explicit, similar to the Switch OLED reveal, with flashy buzz words. After that, I think they will do a pre-recorded video fully explaining all features, similar to the Switch Lite. This time, I could see both of those videos maybe being put together in a dedicated Switch 2 reveal livestream, and I think it would be the best way to do it, to make things clear right away. After that, they will regurgitate all the information in the Nintendo Live events across the globe, they will have Switch 2 games playable there, and have Nintendo Treehouse Live style gameplays.
