This might or might not be related, but I really feel Jisung when he stated that he doesn’t like being sexualized. When idols (or even anyone really) are dancing something that is considered “sexy” (like hip thrusts, waves, etc), I often found people who sexualize or making suggestive comments about them. While I (and maybe Jisung too) just like doing those movements because it looks cool, requires difficult techniques, or just simply flows nicely with the music (which is what I believe the essence of dancing is) without seeing it as a sexual thing. For example, I saw a video the other day about a Twice’s song that has this chest & hip popping movement and the video was like “who allowed them to do this choreo”, and I was like “what’s wrong with the choreo?” After I read the comments and try to think about it again, I think the video suggest that the movement is sexual/sensual, but I still don’t see it that way. I just see it as a variant of popping technique. Okay, I know there are people, and a lot of them, who do those movements because they DO want to look sexy, but there are also people like me (again, maybe Jisung too) who just see them purely as a dance move that go smoothy with the music. Also, I often found comments like “look at that big bulge in [an idol’s name]’s pants”, “I saw [an idol’s name]’s abs on minute ...”, or “[an idol’s name] got some nice ass/racks”. Maybe there’s no ill intentions in those comments and they might be harmless and some idols might actually like receiving those kind of comments, but idk, they make me uncomfortable. I’m sorry for my rants and I’m sorry if I offend anyone. I just needed to get this out there somewhere.
