This side mission is very well done. The crime scene speaks for itself, but you don't realize it because the woman puts pressure on you to take the body. But, if you look at the scene, in the room there are no signs of a fight, she says that he hit her and choked her (She has no signs of physical damage on her body) and that it was him or her. But the victim's corpse is in a sleeping position and (if I remember correctly) there was only blood on the victim's side of the bed. She kill him while he was sleeping. There's a glass of water on the bedside table. If you loot her, she has 3 oleander sage herbs... is a poisonous herb in the world of RDR2. The "Oleander Sage" is based on the "Nerium Oleander", a flower with toxic properties in real life. She probably tried to poison him, but he didn't drink the glass of water.

You missed the point. First time you see her, the dude she stabbed has a knife in the chest and she says it was self defense and Arthur kinda believes her. You're supposed to help/believe her. Second time she asks you the same thing but this time the guy has a knife in the back, so self defense is out the window and Arthur is suspicious.

Unfortunately this is one of very few possibilities to take a criminal to the sheriff. I tried to bring that lady who pretended to be wounded but turned to be a robber, tried to bring the guy who was robbing a pedestrian in Saint Denis. But both times I myself was arrested:(

yeah you gotta use common sense sometimes. One easy way to test it is tie that person up and see if NPCs react scared to you before you take them to the sheriff, if they don't react you should be fine. I can see why some people you meet should be taken in. You're not wrong for thinking so.

If the sheriff have no knowledge of wrongdoings of certain NPC its normal that he incriminates you, especially if the NPC that commit those crimes do it outside sheriff jurisdiction (ie inside his city) like in the roads, forest and etc.

@@qwertyrewtywyterty and this set of coding is complicated in particular, when you're in a cutscene and it gives you "A or B" options, that's different. But when the game is giving you ACTUAL multiple options in a given live scenario, and it has to react differently depending on what you do (for example "picking person up = no wanted AND = can take to sheriff for THIS cutscene vs- other options (could be many)). Thats complicated to code lol to us its all so Simple, to them its a TON of logic and mini math that they have to get perfect or it will give you a wanted level on accident. They think of these things all the time, it just takes so much more time to do something simple than you'd think, it just depends what you're trying to do.

I actually got suspecious when I got this encounter for the second time. So I went to sherif whith the body, and was cought off guard by his reaction when I told him what happened. He said: AGAIN!? I laughted so hard, man. All the way to the bank, so to speak, since they both payed me)

As we both walked in and I saw the body I aimed at her then she proceeded to run off. I missed the whole bringing her in to the law situation of course, but still a few days later I encountered the scene where they let her swing.
