Kobe took longer and more difficult shots and made them at a much higher clip. Same with Kobe compared to Mike actually even though the difference is a lot closer with Kobe to Mike vs Kobe to LeBron. The most incredible thing about Kobe is that he played most of his career dealing with injures. And he won 5 rings, having to deal with the entire West. That dude won his fifth ring with a broken finger, a bad knee which was drained before every game, a bad ankle, and a suffering back. He passed his prime early in his career ,at the age of 28 ,after his second knee surgery and he evolved his style of playing managing to win 2 more rings. Bron Bron had to deal with the first injury of his career and he missed the playoffs. He wouldn’t be relevant with the amount of injuries that Kobe had.

Later this would bite Kobe’s old coach in the ass because Kobe’s old coach would then be the assistant coach for the 2006 Mavericks that Kobe would drop 62 points on and out score them in 3 quarters. Kobe even called it a revenge game and specifically drop 62 points on his old coach to prove a point. Its his coach’s problem, not his nor does this sway in LeBrons favor as Kobe had to find minutes between Eddie Jones and Nick Van Axel. LeBron had to find minutes from Darius Miles who’s a bust. In his 17 years he was considered an elite defender 5 times and a good defender 1 other time. 2a. Lets talk offense. Now before you bring the “efficiency” argument and wrongfully knock all of Kobes offensive off. Kobe having a 45% fg and Bron having a 50% fg means literally this. If both took 20 shots Kobe hits 9 while Bron hits 10. However, if you carefully look from where these shots are coming you will “easily” see who is the more versatile scorer. Kobe is a legit threat from anywhere at anytime while Brons gets close to 65%-75% of his shots from with in 10 feet and that too in a league which has eliminated the Power forward position and has shifted centers to the perimeter hence the Lane and paint are open and not heavily protected unlike when Kobe played and definitely unlike when MJ played. Overall Kobe edges Bron. 3. When looking at the intangibles. While Bron physically gets the players around him more involved he doesn’t impact their greatness or potential to be better. In fact the research shows that Lebrons teammates actually underperform while playing with him and perform better when not playing with him. Kobes teammates have stated the impact Kobe has had on their game. While he will not physically get his teammates as involved as Bron does by passing the ball (largely due to the triangle offense design) Kobes work ethic and leadership demands the BEST version of his teammates and he pushes them to reach their potential. Look at Ron Artest, a guy who no one could get the best out of. Ron loves Kobe for the fact Kobe got the best out of him. Pau is ARGUABLY a HOF and only due to Kobe. If he didn’t play with Kobe he’d be where his brother is. And Marc overall is better than Pau. The examples are many. Only players who couldn’t play with Kobe were the ones not cut from the same fabric. Also Kobes will, determination, mental toughness during adversity is unparalleled. This also has a trickling effect on his teammates. This is something Kobes an A+ at and Lebron, while he has improved but nothing more than a B+ and that too he developed after teaming up with D wade. Enough Said.

Tristan Isadore In my opinion, Lebron is a top 3 player of all time no debate. Kobe is in my top 10. However, I think they see Kobe as a better player because he used to go at his defenders on the offensive end non stop the whole game. That may be more mentally tiring on the defensive end guarding Kobe over Lebron, but in my opinion that does not make him a better player just because they thought he was harder to guard. 🤦‍♂️
