It’s easily Hakeem. Better defender in the inside and on the perimeter. Hakeem is better all around scorer and more versatile offensively. Hakeems game translates over different eras of basketball. Modern NBA players still come to Hakeem to improve their post game. Also Hakeem was solid at the FT line and didn’t need to get taken out for any hack purposes. It’s easily Hakeem. Also he didn’t have the caliber of teammates shaq had

Shaq was better. Better finals performances, way more dominant at his peak (arguably has the greatest 3 year peak ever), more efficient, better playmaker, demanded more defensive attention

@damienrosesax

@@lordkubriq1266 He had more appearances, not necessarily better appearances. His efficiency is solely due to his shot selection, which was within 5 ft. Hakeem could actually space the floor. Olajuwon was the only one getting defensive attention because he was the only real threat until his repeat. At Olajuwon's peak, he got every major award in one year: MVP, DPOY, FMVP, and a ring. The other two years? He got 1 more ring, another DPOY, and led the league in blocks. Olajuwon is significantly better on defense, and only slightly worse in offense. He may average less ppg, but if teams fouled him like O'Neal, he'd average a LOT more.

Hakeem. Better defender, slightly better rebounder for his competition and played against better contemporaries for his prime vs shaq. Dream beat shaq, Amdiral, Ewing, the showtime lakers revolutionized the defensive potential of a bigman. He also has a little more than 1000 less points in two less seasons played
@statik4961

Let's drop the accolades and talk straight ball: Does it matter what Shaq brings to the table offensively if I can hack-a-shaq him when it matters the most? Does it matter if he's physically dominating the paint 24/7 when teams these days take most of their meaningful shots from outside the paint? Prime Shaq just doesn't have the tools to beat teams that play outside the arc(Prime GSW or 2018 HOU). Hakeem was a prototype of the modern day big and a defensive nightmare no matter where he is on the floor.

Why is it so important to drop accolades these players use their skills to gets stats and accolades but y’all wanna dismiss the production that their skills accumulated to achieve to accolades. My question is if your numbers don’t impact winning and your not being effective why does it matter who is the better basketball player . Saying who is the better basketball players with the numbers is say who is a better t shirt all american 😂

@@nykareem2001 Hack-a-Shaq aside, I can just drag my big out the paint like a KAT or Turner & take away 90% of Shaq's game on D. What do you think would happen if I throw Shaq into high-screen action against the likes of an SGA or Ja? Shaq was scary because NBA teams elected to drive rather than play outside the arc. Now a-days 1 out of 3 shots are 3pa.

@@statik4961 Shaq wouldn't be guarding KAT or Turner str8 up, the wings would. There are plenty of bigs and forwards who can't shoot today (Dray, Gordon, JJJ, Mobley, Banchero...). every Big in history would get cooked by SGA or Ja if they switched thats why POA is important
