Playground Tutorial Outpaint With Ease. It's been awhile since I've done an outpainting video and I wanted to go over some basic techniques that will make a big difference when you expand your images on Playgrounds Canvas. There are some simple concepts to consider when you want to outpaint your image but it will also give you a more seamless workflow.
If you want to create a similar image, use this prompt and settings:

These videos of yours are fabulous, very helpful. Thank you. I want to report that something strange has happened. Up until two days ago, I was creating wonderful and perfectly realistic images using SDXL in Playground. Now, all of a sudden, it is distorting and multiplying within each image, three heads, 12 eyes etc. No matter what negative prompt I use, it still does this. Can you fix this?

I'm glad the vids are helping. There isn't anything wrong with Playground that we're aware of. Also hard for me to know what the problem is with no settings, info, context etc. Make sure you are using SDXL and not SD1.5. Are you on Canvas or board?

Seems that it is the "refinement" scale causing it . . . basically, very little refinement is possible, without all these duplications and distortions coming in.

I have a video coming out soon on the refinement slider, basically it's to be used sparingly, 0-30% for minor refinement, 40-60% for more enhanced details, anything higher is typically for more abstract images. I'm just waiting for a slight adjustment in the backend to release the video. 👍

Gorgeous pic! I've always loved dark blue with gold. What prompt words did you use to make the whole body visible in the picture? All i'm getting is half body and when typing "full body" I get curvy people lol

I absolutely love your software. I just hope the quality of the outputs wont drop in the future. I've been using WOMBO software and in the last 3 months the quality of the outputs turned so ugly that it completely made me lose interest in it. I dont know what made them make that change,i had a subscription to it and canceledd. As i dont want to keep paying for less quality. I don't sell anything or make NFT's or anything like that. I just really enjoy seeing all the worlds i can create through words [prompts]. I just want to say that at this moment i'm extremely pleased with everything you guys have done till now, and i hope it keeps improving unlike Wombo.

The videos you made were very helpful! I would like to ask a question, for a drawing where I'm happy with all the other details, only the hands of the figure are deformed and need to be adjusted, how do I fix it? Especially, how to fix the incomplete hand in the drawing, such as the hand holding a newspaper, or the hand holding a cup of water, I tried to redraw it with the "Impaint" function, but the result is not good, can you make an episode of related videos, thank you! Great tutorial, thanks! The Playground Ai gets better with every update. Does Inpaint work with the Stable Diffusion XL model? I didn't find such an option. For me, inpaint only works with version 1.5 and the Playground model.

You’re welcome! It works on canvas but as mentioned we’re working on a better model. Currently it’s delete the area and in paint but we understand that’s not the best way to approach it. The old version on board still works but again not the best model. The team is working hard on getting it out, hopefully sooner than later.

Is it possible to make a repeating tile with outpainting? I'm trying to generate a wallpaper but the image edges dont match up right

Kind of but it can be tricky to do, with some inpainting it can work but it's not the same. We've had many requests for a tile feature which we are looking at.

I have a question! I have an unfinished traditionally made drawing (used Copic pens, markers etc) and my background of said drawing is still partially white and blank. Is it possible to turn that unfinished drawing to a digitally modified cell shaded work with full background with canvas?

Technically yes but it could be tricky to do if you don't want the main image to be affected. Generally speaking if you use image to image to color the background, the AI will change the whole image. You can also use controlnet to achieve more control to certain areas. Hard for me to say without seeing your art work but theoretically it can be done. It may or may not need further post production outside of playground though.

This function does not work as of 2/21. The frame defaults to inpaint and the image is simply corrupted and broken off into odd squares. Any suggestions? Also you go too fast here especially at the end with regenerating - no good for beginners.

Technically text with ai image generation is still not where it needs to be but with SDXL vs Stable diffusion 1.5 it's better.
