As a kid I caddied for Ron Kramer, who at the time was playing tight end for the Detroit Lions after an acclaimed career as tight end for the Green Bay Packers. He was a large guy. He had famously large feet, perhaps large enough to make finding golf shoes for himself difficult, so he frequently played barefoot. He liked to walk barefoot through the sand traps now and then, instructing me not to rake them. It looked a bit scary, like a silverback gorilla was loose on the golf course

Just curious, not trying to hate, but why not just play in the wet shoes? It would have only been a few holes. I’ve played in soaking wet shoes several times. It’s annoying but less annoying than trying to swing with no grip.
