20:41 There is a way to make it less scary. Piglins don't get angry when you interact with hoppers. Meaning you can place a hopper under a chest and have it extract loot from the chest without making them angry.

Fun Fact: Record players in history used to use a diamond tip to read the record as it spins. I think the Edison record players had the diamond tip. never needs to be replaced... Probably why a diamond is needed for crafting a jukebox...

I don't know the numbers but the jukebox range is indeed pretty crazy. Tango's got something like 99.9% of Decked Out 2 covered for card announcements with synchronized activation of jukeboxes at two strategically placed locations. Scar has the morning and evening announcements at Scarland going off with a pair of jukebox stations some distance apart as well. (Although I don't think any calculations for optimal placement were done in Scar's case?)

no, it shows up in the generic loot table and will spawn in all types of bastions in most areas.

It can spawn anywhere but it’s most commonly found in either the bottom chests by the gold and lava and/or the top chests on the taller structure (it depends on which bastion you’re in) Edit: If memory serves I believe the chests with guaranteed upgrade templates have the highest pigstep chance

I feel your pain with bastion raiding. My brothers and I went to raid a bastion the other day (first time ever for them). The problem for use was the insane amount of zombie piglins running around everywhere. We couldn't defend ourselves against the piglins without hitting the zombie ones. And then they'd steal all our gear after they killed us. It didn't go well.

The funniest thing is I have actually put netherite trims on leather armor, I did a leather armor only challenge that somehow lasted long enough for 1.20 to drop and I had some extra netherite since I wasn’t using it to make netherite armor. Definitely felt really weird.

3:03 - Rather than using "coast" template for the "best worst gear" I think it should be the "silence" template. That design tends to be pretty well-liked I think and it's the rarest armor trim (1.2% chance of finding it in an ancient city chest). Also it's a minor point but you should dye the leather. It's not that hard to get all the dyes but I think the rarest dyes would be brown and green.

Dear Zedaph, I (OnlyNeeded) hereby challenge you to the 1 hour world challenge. You play in a Minecraft world for 1 hour and at the end you see how much you’ve done in an hour time. There are just three rules: no creative, no cheats/cheating mods and you have to challenge at least two friends afterwards (they don’t have to accept, but at least you tried). There is not really a point system so it’s more an experiment than an actual challenge… but oh well… I totally get it if you don’t feel like doing this and I am really honored that you even read this far into my comment! Best trick to raiding bastions (which I learned from Pixlriffs) is that piglins aren't immune to lava. Drown them in lava, even the Brutes go down quick, and the damage is considered environmental, so it isn't attributed to you. No agro! Eg at 22:25 is a perfect place to dump a bucket...

One small tip for dealing with piglin bastions: bring a lava bucket. Killing piglins with lava won't anger other piglins (although brutes are always hostile) and can be done when you don't have good line of sight to the mob you're trying to get rid of. If you don't anger any piglins, then pillaring up a couple blocks will make you safe (provided that nothing can drop down on you from above) as brutes and hoglins don't use ranged attacks (and then you can just get rid of them with your handy dandy lava bucket).

Regarding how far you can hear the music - the music disc mod you have on the server now allows to modify how far the sound is heard (talk to Tango about this). This means...you can torment people 10000 blocks away. Or only in the shoppin district. Choose your flavour. xD

Friendly tip for bastion explorers! Pigs dont care about hoppers and dispensers. You can use a hopper to pull loot out of bastion chests without aggravating the denizens, and flow it into a dispenser or dropper. Dont try barrels as barrels still count!

The discs don't auto-eject when they finish playing, do they? Won't they just wait in the jukebox? If they don't wait to be ejected, you make a good point. But if they do wait, that would mean that Zed's system can't break. There would be no difference in what the system is doing when the 2nd signal from the button cuts off the discs early compared to when the 2nd signal from the button flushes the system after the sounds have already run out their time. That's the point of the "t flip-flop" part he was talking about with the redstone. It's a bit of redstone magic that means that the button will always alternate between two different functions. In this case those two functions are "activate machine" and "reset machine". No other logic comes into play beyond "which function was activated with the most recent button press? Now do the other one." At any rate, I was thinking during this that the trophy logically ought to call for more of an endurance trial of putting up with the sound. "How long can you listen before turning it off?" instead of just getting full credit for hearing half a second of it. With it being okay to just hear a bit of it and bail, it's unlikely that someone would bother to let them play out all the way anyway. They can just click the button and think "yep, that's a lot of noise" and then immediately push the button again to stop it.

@@MuljoStpho that is a very good point, jukeboxes don’t auto eject, so it can be run manually. However part of the goal is to have it run at noon each day, and if someone hasn’t gone by to hit the button I don’t think it will play. It should be pretty easy to fix, just run the minecarts automatically from the system that starts the system at noon after all the disks are done playing. I completely agree on the endurance part as well.

Part of me thinks nightfall would be a more fun trigger than midday. Like... midnight, if someone is loading the shopping district they get hit with a wall of sound... And because nights are so rare it will take the fellow hermits a while to figure out the trigger... Scarlands morning and evening announcements didn't sit too well with the neighbors, so I have a feeling the trigger needs to be rarer than clockwork
