Thanks Joey and Garnt for getting Conner to play this, it probably wasn’t on his radar much if at all until you guys told him about it. Absolute banger of a game, no filler and it uses everything is has super well. It was also crazy having bowser join your party as a kid.

@@salemdesu 3-5 is mostly visual novel with lots of reading, and some dungeon crawling. 1-2 are probably just Shin Megami Tensei. Connor playing SMT I can see happening. It's like a darker take on Pokemon where you kill God. And I mean the Judeo Christian one, the one people would clutch their pearls over if they knew.

I loved the OG game back in the day on the SNES. It was actually my 1st ever JRPG and I've been a fan of the genre ever since. This remake while being faithful added some great quality of life changes.

@@ArlanKels I never got to play most of the SNES version due to a soft-lock bug I encountered that stole all my motivation so I didn't want to restart from scratch. So I can't say if/how much easier this version is.

Another game suggestion, seeing that you like Resident Evil, you should try Yuki Onna. It's a Japanese horror game by Chilla's Art with puzzles like Resident Evil where you find things and put them together to beat the game. With a good play-through you should finish it within 2-3 hours.

Cool, I would recommend Xenoblade Chronicles next, but the community can be a pain in the ass, esepcially fans of XC2. All I can say is don't listen to the haters or the hardcore fans of the franchise, just look if you like it. The British voice over is peak, not many games have a real British VO, and I would love to see you reacting to that.

Shigeru Miyamoto basically said no Mario doing the peace sign which is why it's been mostly removed from newer Mario games. In the level up screen they tried to bring it back but replaced it with a thumbs up.

Man this switch version is soooo easy. They made the stacking attacks easier to time and the most powerful normal attack that hurts nearby enemies, wasn't a feature in the SNES version. Plus the one big thing is that they made it possible to swap a downed character for someone else during the battle. Transitions from one scene to another were also made quicker and all of this stuff amounted to reduce an 16-18 hour game into a doable 12 hour one. You should revisit the game and attempt to beat Culex, ONE of two hidden optional challenge bosses! As for another JRPG to play I'd suggest Chrono Trigger and ONLY play the Playstation copy! The PC port made from Android Mobile looks like crap compared to PS1 where you got the addition of anime cutscenes made by Akira Toriyama who made DragonBall while still having the same original gameplay as the SNES!

@@joelchrono Yes. The PS1 CD drive ran at 1x speed while modern DVD drives read CDs as fast as 52x speed and most people deal with the image files instead in emulation. I said the PS1 version because DS emulation with touch screen is tricky and PS1 is easier to setup and stream. He is also just looking to play the main stories
