love this channel, i get bored sometimes and get some gas or whatever like what would help me elevate my beatmaking game to the next level lol and watching these videos, it affiirms my belief that process is more important than gear. and enjoying that process is what makes it valid or something. i dunno, i always enjoy making beats more after watching these videos. life affirming.
@3DomTV
@3DomTV Жыл бұрын
i basically do what you do, create my own samples using synths, process sounds before putting them into a sampler/samplers and tracking them into a daw, but i do it all in the daw, lol somehow. i do also possess some hardware samplers and like to use them as a pallete of tape almost where i can manipulate sounds and sequence stuff and overdub into a daw. but cos i kinda go well yea that's what i'm doing it feels a bit limiting, then i realise it's only as limited as any recording studio same as any daw. so it's the creativity and the impulses and reactions that make it what it is.

OT people, considering the audio buffer size/sampling is 2.30minutes, how do you organise your beats? I find myself only being able to have 3-4 beats per project, but that makes the transitions hard. If I change project the music has to stop. Any ideas on this topic?

how do you guys avoid copyright issues with samples? jon is talking like just listen to cool music and sample it, and I’m 100% for that, but the garbage court system in the US made that illegal since the early 90s - how do you deal with that?
@jonmakesbeats
@jonmakesbeats Жыл бұрын
All of the conversations on this channel are only concerned with the making of music. Releasing music is a whole other beast and the pitfalls you mentioned (getting tied up in the legal system) hint at the only place you should go for advice with that (a lawyer). I don't think about releasing music before I make it. That's distracting and possibly depressing. Thanks for watching
@WHATISPOLITICS69
@WHATISPOLITICS69 Жыл бұрын
@@jonmakesbeats ha, thanks for the input! i wasn’t even thinking in terms of releasing, i just meant in terms of putting stuff up on youtube - you always make the sweetest beats and use amazing samples - i was wondering if you just use whatever and the deal with getting flagged afterwards, or if you have a way to avoid certain companies or samples that don't get a pass on youtube.
@jonmakesbeats
@jonmakesbeats Жыл бұрын
My current method is to simply not monetize the videos and hope for the best. They tend to leave me alone with that so far. These videos are strictly educational. This is why I push the Patreon so hard because it's the only way I can cover channel costs at this point.
@WHATISPOLITICS69
@WHATISPOLITICS69 Жыл бұрын
@@jonmakesbeats ooh i see - much respect. good to know you don’t get harassed for it. i do some sample based stuff but have been afraid to post it. i have a non-music related channel and i do the same thing for the same reasons, i don’t monetize and rely on donations to spare the audience the stupid ads, and to not have to sweat about saying the wrong word or sentence that triggers the demonetization algorithms. very cool, thanks
