This is day 149 of my journey to get to a rating of 2000 on chess.com.
In this game we play the Jobava London!
Absolutely thrilled to be smashing 1700s, but time is smashing me, so... I'm gonna refocus lads, but we coming through for some big wins soon, just gotta focus and play more solid under time pressure.
So far on the series:
94 wins 9 draws 75 losses

You could limit the commentary of the game when playing which would make you more focused and would lessen your time usage.

With regards to time management, I've noticed a few times that you think something through, and then go over that same thought process again, and sometimes a third time. Developing confidence in your first calculation can improve your time. Of course, sometimes we miss things the first time round. But I wonder what your ratio of correct first calculations is. And being stricter with yourself over additional calculations can encourage you to improve that first thought process. There's times I see you call out the best move really early on, and then talk yourself out of it. Or spend a lot of time to come back round to it. Trust your instincts more, trust your first calculations more. That would be my advice. Keep it up man. You got this!

You've been watching too many of my videos haha, you know me too well! I agree, I have often called out the right calculation straight away, and it's instinct, but maybe just being more thorough about how to calculate. First analyze the three potential moves, then figure out why two don't work as well, I think something like this, super systematic, could be helpful

in the opening, play like its blitz/bullet. in the middle game use 4 minutes and maybe u should also study some rook endgames to move faster in theendgame. iff ur oppoenent uses much time, u can also do that. if ur opponnent uses less time, just mov e kinda quicker

You could start playing 15|10, so that time isnt much of a problem.

1:32 after 4...f6 your spidey senses should be tingling - 5.Qh5+ forces g6 then 6.Qe2 h5 7.f3

I think we've been here before. After 2...Bf5 the best response is 3.f3 and then, unless Nf6 you can play e4 (with a distinct advantage), and if Nf6 then g4.

That's so frustrating, you find such good moves but time really is your biggest enemy atm. Keep practicing, i think you need more confidence in your moves mid game. Even if you get it wrong you should give yourself a limit Not sure if you've seen Chess vibes rapid rating climb but he is great at explaining time management; he has a set "hurry up" time limit when he gets down to about 3 mins or so. Might be better to make a sub optimal move for time rather than look for the perfect move and not leave enough time on the table? Hard to say, I'm not at your level so yeah haha

9:00 f3 is cunning as Qxf3 Nxc7+ wins the Q and Bxg7 looks good as Qxg7 is met with Qxc8+. But you started complicating things and needing to spend time. You are lucky that after Nxa6 he missed Rxc2 threatening mate.

I didn't see it removed the defender of the rook on c8, the only thing in the game that I saw was that the pawn was no longer protected by the bishop that he moved. I'm sorry man, my vision is just not there at times, I'm going to be working on my tactics a lot though

@@Blunder_Man dont apoligize you are doing your best and i see improvement. With 10 minutes its hard to see al those moves because you have to think em through deeply. I play a lot of classical chess and with this time control its a lot easier to think foreward 5-10 moves.

I think a key moment was at 2:51 when you captured with your black bishop and then left it hanging. That forced you to move Q x D5 which was not great since it really exposed your Q and also allow him to take your G pawn. JIMHO. Pax Vobiscum.

I think that was totally fine, the only issue was late game time management.. I felt pretty confident moving my queen to d5
